Not sure if you noticed, but that was Christopher Pacci with Gibbs at the flashback scene at NCIS when he called Tony on the phone. He made the joke that "this stomach is gonna be the death of me." He was the agent who was gutted and murdered in the elevator at the opening of season 1 episode 19 "Dead Man Talking."

Was just about to post this as well.

This is one of the episodes I've been counting down to your reaction to since season 1, when it was clear how much you like Tony's character, and this was great! And that you were smiling the whole way through. Do you remember very early on in the show when everyone was asked how they got hired at NCIS, and Tony's answer was simply "I smiled". I love that about NCIS; now in season 8, we get the background for that comment. I think it's especially enjoyable because Kate, McGee, and Ziva we all got to see Gibbs meet and choose them, but Tony was already there. I'm glad we got to see his too. And it's interesting that Gibbs not only sees their potential right away, but always recruits them at a major crossroads in their lives, after their previous job or loyalties were tarnished. I can only imagine what could have happened to those characters if he hadn't. Episodes like this remind me (though the NCIS ones are on a smaller impact scale) of the special character-named often 2-parter episodes in NCIS:LA that just go deep into the character's history and who they are at their core. I always wished NCIS did those too, but these character-centric episodes are still a lot of fun. I'm excited for the finale next week. Season 9 is really good, and we're almost there! I know we still have a long way to go, but it still surprises me how far we've come already. This is such a great reaction journey and I'm here for the whole ride. :)
