CRIMINAL MINDS S03E02 UNCUT.mp4

In Name and Blood In Milwaukee, a series of women have been found murdered with their hearts crudely removed. The BAU is assigned to the case, but they are short three members: Gideon, who is missing, Hotch, who is on suspension and Prentiss, who resigns her commission to join the Foreign Service.

When I first watched this episode, I was really sad to see Gideon go because he was such a great character. Believe it or not, a lot of people in the criminal minds fandom don't like Gideon as a character for some reason but i loved him and the way Mandy Patinkin portrayed him. Mandy personally chose to leave the show because he struggled with the graphic and dark nature of the material especially the constant focus on disturbing crimes against women being a major factor and it affected his mental health and the psychological toll it had on him and quoted that it was "destructive to his soul and personality".

Patinkin left after season two without warning, leaving the production team to scramble to rewrite his departure. "Mandy Patinkin’s 2007 departure from Criminal Minds—driven by his distress over the show's dark, violent content—was part of a history of abrupt exits, including leaving the Broadway hit Evita and the series Chicago Hope over creative differences. Criminal Minds (2007): Patinkin left after season two, leaving letters for his cast mates and failing to attend table reads. He deemed the show's content "destructive to my soul and my personality". Chicago Hope (1995-1996): He walked away from this successful CBS medical drama during season two, later admitting to behaving poorly and citing creative differences. Broadway (Evita, 1980): Following his success in Evita, he left the production shortly after winning a Tony Award."

So sad for Gideon, I hope he finds the peace he’s looking for. So the question now is who will replace Gideon? Has Strauss really turned into a real human like that end bit was showing us? How will this recent shake up affect the rest of the team? And will Haley & Hotchner reconcile or will they continue down the separation path? Hint: some of these questions will be answered next week. Remember that episode 8 & 9 should be watched together, the story line of episode 8 is different than the storyline in episode 9 but some of what happens in episode 8 directly translates to episode 9 so technically you can watch them separately but you’ll be kicking yourself in the arse at the end of episode 8 for not having episode 9 ready to go, trust me.
