I actually liked the episode as an episode of reflection and even philosophy. Weird for sure tho

To: GreywolfTV From: System Admin Good news! While it has taken us about a year, we were finally able to uncorrupt the post on this video. Below is the post in it's entirety. There are two reasons the story of the drug mule played like it did. Reason 1] It's like you said early on in the season. To set up Jeanne to be "killed." Then the writers subverted it and to linked to The Frog at the last moment. Reason 2] It serves a sign post, in a long list of sign posts, that the "Supernatural" is part of the JAG/NCIS universe. Here is something to consider while reading the list: Gibbs Rule #39: There is no such thing as a coincidence. The Death of Lt Laura Singer JAG s08e20 "Ice Queen." It is the episode that first introduces us to Gibbs and his team. It also explains some dialog in NCIS s01e02 "Hung Out to Dry." Just go watch it. I would suggest some week where you just react to 1 NCIS episode. JAG s08e21 "Meltdown" is primarily the court case that follows, with just some minor NCIS investigation. And a side quest for Gibbs. Abilities Beyond what would be considered "Highly Trained" or "Gifted" Gibbs' Gut Gibbs' also appears to be able to Teleport. In NCIS s07e01, kills a Terrorist Leader with a long range sniper shot. This starts a Marine assault on the Terrorist's Compound and Tony, McGee, and Ziva to start their escape. After the Trio turn a corner in the passage, they see Gibbs. The amount of time that elapses, on screen, is about 45 seconds. Some argue that since helicopters are heard, Gibbs must have arrived on one. There is no DIRECT evidence of that. Teleportation would also explain getting the Boats out of the basement. Ziva sensing she is being watched in NCIS s03e04 "Silver War" and NCIS s06e04 "Heartland." Ziva also appears to be faster than a speeding bullet. In NCIS s05e16 "Recoil," a Serial Killer the team has been tracking, has a revolver and is pointing it at the back of Ziva's head from a short distance away. The Killer pulls the hammer back with his thumb. Ziva starts to turn to face him. He fires. The amount of time for the bullet to reach Ziva is only about 5 milliseconds, and some of that is eaten up when they show the bullet leave the barrel and exit the right side of the screen in slow motion. Ziva then finishes her turn and disarms him BEFORE she tilts her head slightly and the bullet grazes her head above her right ear. [There are a few frames that show blood flying from her head as the bullet passes her in slow motion.] All in less than 5 milliseconds. Sandy Watson (The Blind Girl) in NCIS s02e01 "See No Evil" has insane levels of auditory perception. Premonition and Predictions In s01e23 "Reveille," Gibbs has a dream where he finds Kate in a body bag in autopsy with a bullet hole in her forehead. Ari and Ducky are in the dream as well. At the end of the episode, Gibbs and Ari are in autopsy looking over Marta's body with a bullet hole in her forehead, implying Gibbs' dream is just a coincidence. Ari kills Kate the same way one year later. In NCIS s02e24 "Twilight," Abby tells Kate of a dream she had of Tony's face covered in blood. Later that day, when Ari kills Kate, Tony's face is covered in blood. In NCIS s03e12 "Boxed In," McGee suggests they need divers because Tony and Ziva might are in the water. Gibbs insists that if they were in the water, that would mean they were dead. Gibbs is adamant that they are not dead because "If they were dead, I'd know about it. They're not dead." However, in NCIS s05e01, "Bury Your Dead," after Tony's car blows up, Gibbs doesn't know if Tony is dead or not. In NCIS s08e22 "Baltimore" during a flashback to 2001, Tony states "Who would want to be a Navy Cop. I'd rather have the plague." About three years later in NCIS s02e23 "SWAK" Tony catches the plague. In another flashback, NCIS Special Agent Pacci, tells Gibbs that "My stomach will be the death of me." About 2 years later, in NCIS s01e19 "Dead Man Talking" Pacci swallows a camera's data chip. Someone kills him and cuts him open looking for it. Karma In NCIS s02e04 "Lt Jane Doe," Tony didn't return the extra change a drive-thu worker gave him. Kate said Karma would get him for it. Shortly after this, Tony dumps his soda in his lap. Later that day, Tony dumps a coffee he got for Gibbs on his lap. Kate comments "What are the odds of that happening twice in one day?" Then Tony, when illegally searching a house, knocks a pan off the stove, pouring it's contents all over his pants. Then he slips and falls. Ghosts, Near Death Experiences, and other Beings In NCIS s03e01 and e02 "Kill Ari," The Team sees their version of Kate. Abby and McGee only react to what their Kate says. Tony, Duck, and Gibbs have different experiences. Ducky, while known for talking to his Patients, has stated they don't talk back. Kate does. They have a full conversation. Tony's Kate also has a direct conversation with Tony. Gibbs' Kate is angry, even hostile. Mad she took two bullets for Gibbs' and that his Gut doesn't know why. At the end of Part 2, everyone excepts Gibbs, has memories of Kate that are visually different than their interaction with her, ie: not a visitation. In NCIS s04e19 "Grace Period," Paula Cassidy tackles a suicide bomber, and before the bomb blows, she sees her agents that were killed at the same spot earlier in the episode. In this episode: NCIS s04e24 "Angel of Death," Nurse Carli tells Jeanne that she once saw the "Angel of Death" and that it looked like Miss Porta Rico. Later in the episode when the Drug Mule dies, Carli sees a little girl with curly blonde hair and claims that was also the "Angel of Death." Others insist that who she saw was Sarah, a lost girl that security was looking for, and why Security wasn't dealing with the Drug Dealer/Pimp. At the end of the episode, it is reviled that Sarah has straight red hair. In NCIS s05e07 "Requiem," Gibbs "drowns" and has an NDE, and sees Shannon and Kelly. Kelly tells him to "Go Back." As a result, Gibbs survives. NCIS s08e23 "Swan Song" opens with Gibbs watching Ducky and Palmer loading a body bag into the back of their van. Over much of the episode, both in the present and in Gibbs' memory of events from before the start of the episode, Gibbs interacts with Mike Franks. Franks also reacts to what is going on around him, both during events in the present and in Gibbs' memory. Including making comments like "Am I really suppose to remember all these names?" as if he is a separate entity. It is later reviled that Franks is in the body bag. Some people are of the opinion that Gibbs is just trying to "process" what happened and it is not a Ghost, but given Franks' next appearance... In NCIS s09e14 "Life Before His Eyes," NCIS' 200th episode, at the beginning of the episode, Gibbs stops at a diner where he is a regular customer. One of the other patrons walks up to him, draws a pistol, and fires. The bullet doesn't reach him. It is interrupted by a flash of white light and a "life before his eyes" montage. When the montage stop, the bullet is hovering in midair and the diner is "Otherworldly." Gibbs spends much of the rest of the episode directly interacting with Franks (Killed in s08e23 "Swan Song"), McCallister (Killed in s08e09 "Enemies Domestic"), Shannon and Kelly (Killed in 1991), and Ann, Gibbs' mom, (Died in 1968). At the end of the episode, time resets to just before the shooting. Gibbs gets shot. Franks is still there. So, the question is, does Gibbs remember the events?

This was episode 200! The show runner said they wanted to do something special for it and hence went down this road of alternate timelines and make Gibbs reflect on how the smallest choice can change a lot.

I liked the episode the first time it aired and thought it was very well put in. However now, I can see its flaws. Btw, this episode general idea is similar to the 500th episode too

I liked this episode a lot, it is weird for sure. But like you said, all those moments in the diner (the flashbacks), were all happening within a second. The saying "when you are about to die, your life flashes before your eyes". Love the way they handled it for the 200th episode. The 500th episode does something similar too.
