Lately I’ve had a lot of people asking me why their commission wasn’t picked, or pitching ideas to me outside of the commissions round asking if it’ll be selected. I thought it might be helpful to go over how I pick commissions, and to give some tips on what to do (or not do).

Most people know now that I take idea submissions and pick from the ones I like. This makes it hard for me to say whether I’ll pick any particular idea, because it depends a lot on what all ideas I get. For instance, normally I love doing AV pics. But if I have 5 people all submit their AV ideas at the same time, I’m pretty unlikely to pick all five.

This also means there are a lot of kinks or ideas that I’m generally okay with, but since I’m not personally very into them, they’re rarely my first choice when I’m picking from ideas. Off the top of my head...

Things I’m Okay With But Which Aren’t My First Choice

  • Mpreg

  • Cock vore

  • Tentacles or snake cocks

  • Pokemon, Digimon, MLP or other characters based on someone else’s IP

  • Non-organic characters, e.g. Aeromorphs, Protogen, etc.

  • Unusual or hybrid cocks

  • Very complex characters with lots of different colors, markings, details, etc.

A solid rule of thumb is: if you haven’t seen me draw something for myself for fun, it’s probably not something I’m too interested in doing on commission. So it's less likely I'll pick that.

Complicated Ideas

The second thing I’ve been getting a lot are very complicated picture ideas. This may also be partly my fault, because I do often take on complicated pictures, especially multi ones. But I’ve been trying to move away from these so I can do sketches more easily between other projects. I’m less likely to take these on now than maybe I was in the past. This doesn't mean I won't ever pick any complicated ideas. But I might only do one or two per month.

Similarly, I also get a lot of submissions for complex scenes that involve many kinks together. I think what tends to happen is, people see I’m open and they think this is their one chance to get a pic from me. So they have to put in everything they can think of to make sure they get me to draw all their favorite kinks!

This usually doesn’t work out very well. It makes the picture difficult (if not impossible) to pose or it includes an unreasonable number of alts. And it also tends to be a lot more expensive—often more than the client was expecting.

It’s much better to focus on just your favorite kink, or maybe your favorite + one or two others that work well together. And again, if you play to my strengths you’re a lot more likely to have your idea picked.

Finally, if you’ve submitted the same idea twice and I still haven’t picked it, that’s a pretty good indication that I’m not going to do it.

I really appreciate all the continued support so far! And I still plan to do commissions at least through the end of the year. So hopefully this info can help you when coming up with ideas.

If you have any other questions, please leave them in the comments and I'll respond to as many as I can.

So there’s no judgement if I submit a basic bitch idea? :3 I still remember my first commission from you... I just knew I wanted hyper, and nothing else lol

Haha that's fine. I never judge anyone for having a basic idea. Sometimes you just want a pinup of a character, and that's enough! That said, if you do want a pinup, if you can also suggest something for the character to be doing, that's helpful too. There are only so many ways to draw a character just standing around. But if I know your character likes, say, basketball, or swimming, or barbecuing, that gives me something extra to play off of, and it'll be more likely to grab my interest.

Wait, so how does one even commission you in the first place? That's what I want to know

Where do I submit ideas/commissions?

Tyrannus Rexus

I have a character I really want to use with a relatively fun idea. …As always I fail to spot your monthly ish commission windows to submit ideas. No randomly asking here, Fur, or on other platforms unless you are open.

I make a post here that says I'm open for commissions with a link to a google form. You can then submit your idea on the form.

I make a post here that says I'm open for commissions with a link to a google form. You can then submit your idea on the form. I usually have the form up for 3 to 4 days. (Although the last time I opened publicly it was only about 24 hours because I got so many submissions so quickly.) So I guess you just have to keep an eye on my posts.
