Karl and Ian will be recording this month's Q&A video on the way to Vegas for SHOT Show this week - what subjects are you curious about that you would like to hear us discuss?

Gents, Love all your programming. I was hoping i could pick your brains about the FN P90. It seems like a really unique, interesting design, which didn't really take off. I was wondering what you thought of the weapon, and the 5.7x28mm cartridge. Thanks for everything you do! Zach B.

Edward Hertig

Gotta see video on the HMG STG44...so cool New Magpul mags for AK platform like 20rd tankers in the Gen 3 mold and mags in 5.45

Tyler Miller

Is there a design that should be tried again now that we have more advanced materials and manufacturing methods?

James O

what other guns are you planning to mud test?

David Hyer

Any good resources to suggest for someone who wants to restore a historical distructive device, but more importantly any good information or places to buy practice rifle grenades and their launchers? I have been quite interested in the subject and am at a loss where to start.

What handgun do you think is the best candidate for winning the new US pistol trials?

Whatismoo

I already asked this on the forgotten weapons Q&A request, but I'll try again here "To the best of your knowledge, was the US lack of an effective squad light machine gun during much of WWII due to doctrinal opposition, lack of an appropriate weapon, or some other cause? If possible could you also speak to the pros and cons of the various light machine guns of the war, e.g. Bren, DP-28, FM 24/29, Breda M30, Madsen, 1919A6, Type 96, MG34, MG42, MG45, etc?

Roman Rodriguez

Thoughts on the popularity of pistol caliber carbines like the CZ Scorpion, Sig mpx?

Kyle Iverson

Do you and Karl see any merit in the attempts made by ammunition manufacturers to create modern "intermediate" cartridges? Ones like 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 Remington come to mind. The .280 Brit round would have been great, but we weren't mentally ready for it at the time

Kyle Iverson

I can tell you that: it's a repro WWII German smock, there are MANY multitudes of them to be found online and in a variety of WWII German camo patterns.

Gunnar Carlson (Dr. Gun)

Hiw did Karl and Ian meet, and what firearms so you both afree are among the best?

Paul Kerns

If you were both sent back into WW1 as artillery men would you opt for a rifle or a carbine pistol?

Matthew Jackson

Would you ever consider adding a long range (300+ yards) component to a two-gun match?

CitizenPete

Karl told m the Vz.58 mud test was completed and recorded at the same time as the others but not yet posted. What gives? Are you holding the post until after SHOT?

Mike Christie

Once the US pistol trials are complete and the Army selects a new handgun (and maybe a new caliber?) is their any military utility for a pistol-caliber carbine like the MechTech C.C.U. Obviously I'm primarily thinking of rear-echelon troops, offices, MPs, crewmen etc. I'm assuming the biggest negative would be the short(ish) effective lethal range for a pistol round?

Carl

I'd like to know your thoughts on why shotgun clones like the Maverick 88, H&R protector, and the Hawk 982 are so cheap. especially the Maverick 88 which is American made.

Chris D

Hi Karl and Ian! Aside from the SVD evolving from the ZF41 and becoming the predecessor for the modern DMR as you've discussed, what do you think the Former Soviet states got right and wrong in the field of small arms from the Cold War up until today? Also, after your mud tests, what role do you think the AK fulfills in 2016 and beyond? Will it always be a modern combat firearm, or is it set to go the way of the revolver?

Fudj

What do you guys think of the Radom MSBS? Did you get a chance to play with one at shot show? What were your impressions? What do the internals look like and are they truly "operating on completely distinct internal mechanics" or is it just a re-skin of a different gun? Thanks!

Grant Howard

After watching your SHOT coverage, you guys still seem a little on the fence about the HMG Sturmgewehr. Can we expect you guys to maybe see if you could borrow one to get a final opinion on one?

Arya Roy

Dear Ian and Carl, Why is it that even though within ten years of WW2 almost all major nations rapidly transitioned to select fire battle rifles, except the British, no country except the U.S adopted a semi-automatic rifle between the wars? Was it a doctrinal issue, prioritization of heavy weaponry development, or simple inertia? And why did the U.S, which otherwise seemed to have their share of obsolete weapons at the start of WW2, have the foresight to develop and adopt the Garand? More specifically why was the experience of WW1 not sufficient incentive to want a self loading rifle, and what was new about infantry battle in WW2 that changed minds? Thanks for doing these informative and entertaining videos. Thanks, Roy

Jeremy Nimmo

Do you find the stretch panels on the tactical yoga pants to be sufficiently relaxed?

Brock Samson

Has there ever been a firearm you had reservations about owning yourself or showing on one of your videos? I am not talking about a poorly functioning firearm but maybe a firearm that you had moral misgivings about. For example a MP40 or 98k that could be traced to a guard at Auschwitz?

InRange TV

No, I don't think guns acquire any sort of juju from their owners, good or evil.

Brock Samson

Thank you for the response. Yeah I agree, being an inanimate object you can have moral objection to what the person did but not the firearm they carried. I do own a Yugo Mauser as opposed to a K98 but that is more because it was substantially less money and I was more interested in having an example of a Mauser than any one in particular.
