Hello there,

in my latest chat with DesDraw we thought it might be a good idea to share some insights into the story development - I could probably go on for pages about this but for this post I wanted to give you a better understanding of how we incorporate the feedback that we get.

If you have any questions or want to have some more interaction - our Discord is the best place for that (I usually can be found around there as well).

Development process

So, before I get into feedback I need to get a little into the development process itself. I usually write one complete chapter which includes all the possible paths (corrupt path, resistance path, etc.) so that we have a defined starting and end point. The way we currently release the game gives you usually around 50% of a new chapter per release - this has two reasons:

For one we want to keep you entertained with a steady release schedule if possible and secondly rendering, testing and tweaking takes up more time than writing the initial script.

Example: The chapter that started with release 0.5 is about 48 pages long and you currently have seen probably 30% of it (for reasons that will become apparent in the next releases - I won’t spoil it for you).

Besides that I am usually trying to stay one chapter ahead in the script so that we have enough time to balance ideas and don’t need to rush it at some point. From a story development I have the entire story mapped out until the final chapter as a framework, so there is a basic structure, main plot, etc. already there.

User feedback

Now, as for the feedback from our Patreons and users - so far we got some good points (some were already planned for the story as well) and we are always looking to improve the game.

Now, the thing you need to be aware of are two things:

Timing

The first one is timing - let’s say we get a great idea (and DesDraw and I are throwing ideas at each other all the time) and we want to incorporate it into the game.

Chance is you will see it in a couple of releases as the script is already done and pre-production for the release is on track (see above). If it is something that can be put in earlier (as it e.g. is a singular event that fits well into the current script or actually improves upon an element that we wanted to do) then you may even have the chance to see it sooner.

Narrative Impact

The second one is the impact on the overall narrative - everything that’s in the game and everything that happens is there for a reason. The characters have motives (some hidden) and some stuff needs a certain amount of buildup to become more believable.

That’s probably the point where we try to strike a balance between naughty content for you to see and the lead up to this content - does this always work? You tell me… :)

Now, what I’m getting at is, I would love to e.g. write a “Lara BBC gangbang” scene (as an example), but we need to put the groundwork for that into the story. Why would Lara even do that, what brought her to this, etc. - in the end this scene would require a certain path and sequence of events that happened before.

So keep the feedback coming, we have an idea board and I also have a notepad on how to update “older chapters” at some point if time allows.

I hope this was of interest to some of you, thank you for your support.

Take care

Waahnubis
