Hello there,

since my last post about story development and how we look at user feedback a few things have happened and were discussed with the team - so we wanted to keep you updated on the next steps of development.

Two major feedback points

So we heard two topics multiple times from various feedback sources and they were:

1) Some decisions are locked too much to a certain amount of corruption points that you aquire, essentially enforcing a certain decision sequence and reducing player choice.

2) There is no real “grey area” that you can play between the two available paths (what we came to call resistance and corruption)

Now the reason for this is based on the initial game idea, which was, to be quite honest, a bit smaller in scope as it now turned out to be. Which isn’t a bad thing, as we enjoy telling a bigger story and you get a better game. But it also meant for us that we needed to re-evaluate a few design decisions and game mechanics.

The thing we found is that now is probably the best time to do that, as everything in the later chapters builds on the current ones to some degree.

So what does it mean - we will make the following changes in the next release(s):

1) We re-worked and balanced the “Corruption counter”, which means:

a) Decisions are not as “locked” as before, only key “naughty” decisions will be checking for a certain corruption level.

b) Accumulation of points is re-balanced as well

2) We will be adding a “third path” to the existing chapters where it makes sense, so:

a) You can have a more balanced playstyle

b) There is a way between “full resistance” and “full slut mode” that you can play (if you find it)

c) We also try to cater more for the fact that Lara also is an adventurer and fighter at her core.

In the end this will lead to a better game experience and more choices for the players.

Now, of course there are two downsides to that:

Once we implement the “remastered” version of the old chapters, old savegames will probably no longer work or give you error messages at certain game points. So we would recommend a fresh start after the release.

And secondly the release after the next will be the one where we start the rollout of the remastered chapters. So new content will be added into the existing chapters before we move on to expanding the story.

However, we do not expect this to take too long as we are not changing the majority of what’s already there. So hopefully it will be a good compromise for everyone.

As always, thanks for your ongoing support.

Take care

Thank you Waahnubis and the whole team , the game will be better with this mechanics , it's quite a challenge with the script and the animations , but it's really worth it :)
