The Crew of the Rubricauda: Colt (Patreon)

Attempting to mimic Otayen's form in a river one day, a passerby mistook him for a Kelpie; a mythical water being said to drag its victims into the sea.

After laughs were had at the misunderstanding, the passerby referred to him as "a mischievious colt" before leaving and while only meant in jest, the name stuck.

To Colt, the name binds both Otayen and himself in a special way beyond their mentor/student and chosen familial relationship.

Since being grown and cultivated by Eric aboard the Rubi, Colt has practised maintaining forms outside of hosts to the point he is now self sufficient.

He is able to jump into hosts temporarily and manipulate their forms to achieve a goal or to replenish himself during an emergency - but he's polite and respectful of boundaries, requesting consent in advance.

Colt is an artist, and can frequently be found in his quarters on the ship doodling up pictures, designs and whatever else the shapeshifting goober can think of.

After a conversation about clothing, Winty gave him an old jacket of his to celebrate his ability to maintain his form; a jacket that is almost never off of Colt's back nowadays.
