"No flying in the house," Vicky teased as Amy and Taylor flew down the stairs, wanting to make it out of the upstairs before the adults got back.

"How many years have you been waiting to say that?" Amy asked as they landed at the bottom of the stairs.

"Since I got powers," Vicky replied with amusement as they heard a car door shut, letting them know that the folks had gotten back. "So, did you have fun?"

"Fuck you and yes," Amy replied with a touch of amusement, thinking about Taylor's familiar and the fact that she'd enjoyed having sex with it while it looked like her sister.

"Yeah no," Vicky replied with a laugh. "Did you get any interesting cards?" she asked Taylor.

"Fourteen if you include the card I got for escaping three curses," Taylor replied as she tapped the card that looked like it was made out of diamond, causing it to flip over and reveal a picture of a pair of glowing eyes floating in a forest. 'Mystical Eyes of Purity, using these mystical eyes you can cleanse any target you can lock your sight on, allowing you to break curses, cleanse disease and poison, dispel charms and otherwise remove any status effect that goes against the natural state of the target. The more powerful an affliction the more energy you have to expend and the more strain your eyes suffer. Huh, that would make healing people a lot easier.'

Vicky raised her eyebrows. "That seems like a lot of cards, what did you get the rest of them for and did it have anything to do with Amy screaming like she was in a porno?"

"Glass houses," Amy warned her sister, causing Vicky to shut up and mime zipping her lips.

"A bit of this, a bit of that," Taylor replied as the door opened, revealing Carol Dallon standing on the porch with a bag of groceries.

"New friends?" Carol asked suspiciously when she noticed a girl wearing street clothes along with a copper theater mask and a gray cloak that was standing by her daughters.

"Yep," Vicky replied as she gestured at Taylor. "This is Maverick, we met at the hospital when she was trying to get certified as a healer."

Carol glanced at Amy then focused on the stranger. "Are you the reason that Amy lost most of her freckles?"

'Maverick?' Taylor thought, not sure how to feel about Vicky picking her cape name because she hadn't come up with one before they'd gotten distracted. "I had permission."

Amy sighed, pulling Carol's attention off Taylor and redirecting it to her as her dad walked up with a bag of groceries. "I probably shouldn't have agreed without talking to you and Dad but it's nice not having them covering most of my face, she can also heal and doesn't have the same issues with brains which means she might be able to cure Dad's depression."

"You've tested this?" Carol asked Amy warily, hoping this wasn't another dead end for a cure.

"I checked her healing, it's safe and effective," Amy assured her.

"Great, what do I have to do?" Mark asked.

"Just stand there a minute and don't drop the groceries," Taylor told him as she slotted her Mystic Eyes ability in the slot she'd been using for her String Generation.

Mark handed the bag to Vicky.

Taylor used her power on Vicky's father before Carol could object, causing her eyes to flash and curing Mark of his various medical issues. "How do you feel?"

Mark smiled when he realized that he felt clear headed and truly optimistic for the first time since his head injury when he was younger. "I feel fantastic and clear headed and nothing hurts."

"Can you check his head?" Carol asked Amy, knowing that she could check things even if she couldn't fix them.

Amy stepped forward and touched her dad's hand and checked his health, a touch surprised to find Taylor had fixed some scar tissue and that his brain was completely functional and that he'd probably never have to deal with actual depression again. "He's clear."

Carol let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you."

"Do you want me to get rid of any toxins or diseases or damage from previous concussions that Amy hasn't fixed?" Taylor asked Carol.

Carol glanced between Mark and Amy then focused on Taylor, doing her best to ignore the paranoid voices telling her that there was a catch, because there was always a catch. "Yes," she told her, knowing that she'd taken a couple of hits over the years.

Taylor spent the energy to cure Carol, causing her to relax as years of trauma evaporated.

Carol took a breath and tried to pull her scattered thoughts together, feeling like someone had just taken a massive weight off her shoulders. 'Bitch, lunatic, master? Yeah, not seeing it and that should be a concern but everything feels clear.' She glanced at Amy. "Can you check my health?"

Amy checked her mom's health, noticing that a number of minor issues were gone, including a bit of scarring in her brain. "You're in perfect health."

"I bought ice cream, do you want some?" Carol asked, figuring this was cause for a celebration.

"I appreciate the offer but I should be getting home, I don't want to be late," Taylor admitted.

"She had a long day," Amy added.

"Curfew?" Carol asked thoughtfully.

"Yeah," Taylor agreed. "It's a school night."

"Do you need a lift? We can get you closer," Carol offered, wanting to make sure the girl didn't get in trouble for helping them.

Mark headed back outside with a spring in his steps to get the rest of the groceries, actually looking forward to cooking for the first time in a while.

"It's not that far, I'll be fine," Taylor assured them then stepped outside and started walking toward the street.

"I'll be back in a couple of minutes, don't eat all of the ice cream," Amy told Vicky and her mom then followed Taylor outside, wanting to ask a couple of questions about her new ability.

"That went better than I was expecting," Taylor admitted in a whisper after they were out of earshot.

"Same," Amy agreed. "New power?"

"Yeah, that was from the diamond card," Taylor replied as she tapped a gold card, causing it to flip over and reveal a picture of a girl drawing a sketch of a naked woman on a sketch pad. "Fine arts, I'm going to have to test that. Speaking of testing things, do you want me to fix any scar tissue or health problems your power hasn't fixed?"

"Sure," Amy agreed, not seeing the harm. She blinked a couple of times when Taylor's eyes glowed with light and she suddenly felt better and more relaxed than she'd felt in years as most of her stress melted away along with her obsession with her sister. "You should bottle that."

"I would if I could," Taylor replied with a smile, suddenly picturing everyone buying cans of soda that cured diseases and various health issues. "I had a hell of a time and don't worry, I don't share secrets."

"Thanks and I had fun," Amy assured her. "I'm going to want a repeat and this time, I'm going to be the one spanking you."

"Absolutely and we'll see on the spanking," Taylor replied with a grin then leaned forward to 'steal' a kiss awkwardly and laughed when Amy did the same thing. "I…"

Amy just kissed Taylor. "Take care."

"You too," Taylor replied as she used Vicky's power and floated off the ground, feeling happy for the first time in years.

Amy smiled as she watched Taylor fly away, getting a nice view of her black panties. 'Nothing wrong with being a bit wicked,' she mused as she headed back to the house to grab some ice cream.

Taylor wasn't sure how to feel as she watched Emma change into her pajamas through her window, mostly because her friend was crazy and probably didn't deserve the help but there was a small part of her that still wanted to help, despite everything.

'Would I get a silver ticket for pictures?' Taylor mused then shook her head and tapped the card she'd just received, revealing a painting of a group of women facing away from the painter that had really nice butts. 'Great Ass, you have a great ass, with incredible cushioning abilities, you can sit upon practically any surface without discomfort. It also looks and feels very good.'

'Why does it feel like Amy is going to have more fun with that than I am?" Taylor mused as she used her Mystic Eyes ability on her ex-friend, fixing all of her physical and mental issues.

Feat Achieved! That Bitch was Crazy, emphasis on the 'was'. Fix Emma's head.

+1x Gold Skill Gacha Ticket

'Great, even my power thinks she was legitimately crazy, does that mean I should give her a second chance?' Taylor mused as she tapped the card, revealing a person with a golden aura around them. "Constant, you're a constant, your body cannot be changed by outside influences without your consent(as in stuff like soul manipulation or biomancy, not regular attacks), in addition, you are immune to paradoxes and only one of you exists as you cannot be cloned or be replicated either. Huh, at least there's a toggle on traits if I need Amy to tweak something.'

Taylor frowned when Emma went from doing poses in the mirror to tossing herself on the bed and screaming into her pillow. "Weird…" she trailed off when Sophia phased through the wall in Emma's room. 'That explains how she got into my locker,' she grumbled, feeling more annoyed than enraged considering she was at least partially responsible for ending up with Amy and her powers. 'I'm not owing that bitch anything,' she thought as she hit the bitch with her Mystic Eyes, wanting to see if it could pull the stick out of her ass.

Feat Achieved! Deal with Sophia Hess without killing her, bonus points for turning her into an actual hero.

Taylor wasn't sure how to feel as she watched Sophia break down and join Emma on the bed, talking about something that she couldn't hear. 'Is it wrong that messing them up like this feels good? Considering the last year and a half, fuck it,' she thought as she tapped the card, revealing a girl making a magic ring. 'Enchanting, allows you to enchant items according to your own abilities and traits, if you have pyrokinesis you can grant fire related enchantments to items or you can imbue the power itself to the item to make it able to release the ability as a limited use consumable. The strength of the enchantment depends on the item and your power level.'

"That's crazy…" Taylor trailed off when she noticed picking up her latest power had increased her available slots to four. 'Four slots? Is that because I have fifteen powers or because I got something powerful?'

Feat Achieved! Cause a person to trigger that shouldn't have been able to trigger by healing them and thus horrifying them.

'How the hell does that even work?' Taylor grumbled as she tapped the card, not sure how to feel about Emma having powers. 'At least she's sane, now.' She looked at the card. "Challenge DLC, Did someone say challenge? A challenge board is added to your gacha, depending on your location, current state and power level you have the option to grab one of 3 challenges from the board as limited-time quests, you can only take one challenge every 48 hours and the board resets every 48 hours. If you fail a challenge the next time you can take a challenge is instead 168 hours later.'

Taylor sighed as she stared at the card, starting to seriously wonder about her power since she'd never heard of any other powers working the same way. 'Screw it, powers are weird,' she thought as she turned and left, flying back toward home, completely missing Emma turning into a shadowy monster with tentacles.

"Woah, exit only!" Sophia squeaked.

Taylor carefully opened the door and froze when she saw her father sitting in his chair watching the door.

"Welcome back," Danny offered dryly.

"I can explain, I got teleported by my power, it wasn't my fault," Taylor offered as she walked in and shut the door behind her.

"Was there a reason you forgot to call?" Danny asked.

"I got distracted," Taylor admitted with a slight blush.

"So, what was his name?" Danny asked.

"Her, I mean…" Taylor trailed off. "There wasn't a guy. I had to explain why I was there and figured you'd actually go to sleep."

Danny sighed dramatically giving her a disappointed look for five seconds before he laughed. "You're fine, Glory Girl called and said that you ended up there, which was sort of interesting considering you left your clothes on the floor."

Taylor sighed in frustration and decided that she probably deserved the joke. "Like I said, I got teleported."

"Is that going to be a continual problem?" Danny asked.

"Maybe?" Taylor offered as she flopped down on the couch.

Feat Achieved! Wingman, help your former best friend get laid by her crush.

'I did not need to know that,' Taylor thought as she tapped the card, revealing a picture of a stylish barkeep mixing drinks. 'Mixology, you have the skills of a well-trained mixologist and bartender. You know how to mix most drinks and come up with your own alcoholic combinations that taste great, as well as managing a bar and dealing with drunk people.'

"Did you get anything for being teleported?" Danny asked.

"Lesser Hydrokinesis, which basically lets me create and control water telekinetically, it's not particularly powerful but it's useful. It would make it a lot easier to clean up the bathroom after a shower or to do dishes," Taylor offered, not seeing a point in mentioning the Wraith familiar or the Eros Hide ability which was basically a field that kept people from perceiving her actions as sexual or perverted. 'Probably shouldn't mention the Sexual Calibration ability or the trait that lets me avoid wearing clothes.'

"Is that it?" Danny asked.

"I picked up the Chompers trait, I'll never have to see the dentist again and my teeth regrow if I damage them, which is sort of neat because I also picked up Enchanting, which means I can share that and most of my abilities."

"You should probably avoid mentioning that you can hand out powers that way and just make specific applications or call it tinkertech," Danny warned her.

"That was the plan," Taylor agreed. "I also get a regular supply of bars of alien metal that has weird properties that should go nicely with my blacksmithing and a ninja belt that increases my acrobatic abilities, lets me stick to walls, muffle sounds and ignore fall damage," she offered, not mentioning the fact that she'd already found out how useful the ability to ignore fall damage because her Mirror power had swapped back without any warning on the way back.

"We should probably look into setting up a forge or something," Danny suggested.

"Or something," Taylor agreed, wondering if she could rent one. "I also got a skill that should help with mental resistance and learning magic, which goes nicely with the magic book I picked up for enchanting."

"So you have a power for enchanting and a book?" Danny asked.

"Yep, the book covers a lot of the little things that I don't have the right powers to cover, like lights and spinning wheels," Taylor explained.

"Just be careful that you don't lose the book," Danny warned her.

"I actually picked up a trait that returns my property if it gets stolen," Taylor explained, wishing she'd had that ability when her flute had gone missing.

"That's useful," Danny admitted. "Huh, do you think you could enchant that on something so the union could benefit?"

Taylor swapped her Mirror ability for her Enchanting ability and focused on the problem. "Not currently, give me a couple of weeks with the enchanting book and I might be able to figure it out, the trait is specific to a creature or person."

"Worth checking," Danny replied. "Now that you're back, I really should catch some sleep, unless you've got a way to make us need less sleep?"

"No…" Taylor trailed off as she realized she could probably pull that off considering Miss Militia was a noctis cape and she could mirror powers. "Give me a couple of weeks and I might be able to pull it off."

"That would be great," Danny agreed as he stood up. "I'm going to get some sleep."

"I'll be here," Taylor. "Wait, I picked up another healing ability, let me use that before you go to sleep, it might stop your snoring."

Danny shook his head. "I'm not that bad."

"You don't snore when you're awake so take it from someone that has heard it and hold still," Taylor said then used her Mystic Eyes ability on him, removing his various status debuffs, including Tired and Depression: Minor.

Danny blinked a couple of times as he went from sort of tired and worn out to feeling the best he'd felt since before the accident. "I don't feel tired anymore, I don't think I'm getting any sleep at the moment. Do you want to start on the basement?"

"What? Why would we be cleaning up the basement?"

"I want your first lair to be close to home," Danny replied with a grin. "It also gives you a chance to practice your Cement Manipulation ability, you can expand under the back yard."

"Worth a shot," Taylor agreed as she got up and headed for the stairs down to the basement, wondering if she could use her Hydrokinesis to clean the walls.

Taylor smiled as she cleaned the last bit of the wall with her Hydrokinesis then dumped the water into the bucket. "And we're done."

Feat Achieved! Clean your lair.

"Lair? Shouldn't that be secret base, I'm a hero," Taylor complained.

"Doctor Curly Hair," Danny cut in. "I remember when you used to be a mad scientist."

"I had a lot of fun back then…" Taylor trailed off.

"Sorry," Danny offered when he realised that he'd reminded her of Emma.

"It's fine, I actually stopped by and fixed her on the way home," Taylor admitted.

"What?" Danny asked.

"I'd borrowed Glory Girl's power so I could fly and she was in her room and so I healed her and left before she even realized I was there," Taylor admitted, leaving out the fact that she'd spent a couple of minutes watching her. "She broke down in tears, so I think she actually lost her fucking mind. It's a shame but it's a relief."

"Doesn't change what happened but it makes me proud of you, little owl," Danny told her.

"It doesn't and we'll never be friends but at least she might get help," Taylor offered, not sure how she was supposed to feel. She tapped the silver card, revealing a picture of a prismatic cloak.

"What did you get?" Danny asked.

"A Prismatic Cloak, a white cloak that, when exposed to natural sunlight, renders the user invisible by bending light around them. This cloak also has the property of reflecting all light-based attacks below Epic rank."

"Nothing wrong with being able to sneak around," Danny said as he glanced at the clean table, something that he hadn't seen in years. "At least you'll have plenty of space for your enchanting, more once you expand the basement."

Taylor glanced at the wall that lined up with the back yard. "I should probably wait until I've had a chance to find a book on building with cement and pick up some rebar. What do you think of hiding the entrance with a secret bookcase?"

"I'm not opposed to having a bookcase down here but they're sort of expensive and getting one down here would be annoying," Danny argued.

"Not really, I'd just sort of push it through the cement in the middle of the night," Taylor suggested.

"This is just because you want a secret passage to your lair, isn't it?" Danny teased, thinking about some of her old stories from when she was a kid and always coming up with something.

"Base, and if you have the ability and you don't take advantage of it to make a secret passage, then you're doing something wrong," Taylor argued.

Danny laughed. "Are you sure you're not a villain?"

"I've read the Evil Overlord's list and most of the list could be summed up by 'Don't be an idiot' or finding a decent job," Taylor argued.

"Have you figured out what you're going to enchant first?" Danny asked.

"I'm going to start with some healing rings, if I get those made and sold, that would give me a decent amount of money," Taylor argued, wanting enough money to cover the supplies she was going to need for being a parahuman.

"Sold or leased?" Danny asked, thinking about her trait that would keep people from stealing from her.

"They'd just steal them if I lease them…." Taylor trailed off as she realized that leasing them would be better with her trait. "I just realized that my trait would probably cover people stealing the stuff they're supposed to be leasing."

Danny grinned. "Which makes leasing everything a more attractive deal if you want to maintain control over the healing items, it would also give the various groups that lease the rings a bit of added security once people realize that you can't just steal the rings without causing them to vanish."

"I'll have to check with the PRT or the hospital in the morning, see if they're interested in buying any healing items," Taylor replied as she swapped her Mirror ability for Metallurgy. She focused and created a gold ring that was basically a dragon eating its own tail, taking advantage of her artistic skill to make it look professional.

"Is that gold?" Danny asked as she stared at the ring his daughter had just conjured.

"Probably, give me a minute to finish it." Taylor started working on giving the ring the ability to heal people by spending energy, taking advantage of her Enchanting ability.

Danny watched ethereal strands of light flow over the ring for a minute before Taylor relaxed and smiled. "Did it work?"

Taylor glanced at the achievement text then checked the floating item description that her Enchanting power was giving her. "Uses stamina to fuel the healing ability, the more severe the wound the more stamina it requires to heal it. Wounds can be partially healed without restriction if needed."

"That sounds like something the PRT or the hospitals would buy, at least most hospitals," Danny mused. "You might have to sell it out of town because of Panacea but that's not exactly a deal breaker considering the potential value."

Taylor took the ring off and handed it to him. "You should probably take it on the off chance that you need it, I can make more."

Danny yawned. "How many are you planning on making?"

"At least a couple," Taylor replied as she worked on duplicating the ring. "I also want to see if I can copy the defensive ring that I picked up but I'm probably going to have to read my enchanting book before that."

"Probably a good idea regardless," Danny offered and yawned again. "And I think I'm tired enough to get some sleep."

"Night," Taylor replied as she tapped the card in her interface, revealing a picture of a girl in a tattoo parlor. "If I'm not here when you call to check, I went to the library."

"Leave a note," Danny told her as he headed for the stairs, glad that his daughter had a project to keep her mind off the locker and that she hadn't killed Emma over the whole thing.

Taylor looked at the description for the Special Tattoo Kit she'd just received. 'This tattoo kit allows the user to create and inscribe special magical tattoos onto people and imbue them with a variety of effects according to your abilities. Only one tattoo may be applied to an individual at a time. Effects applied by the tattoos can only be equal to a Common Rarity Trait in potency or lower.'

She pulled the box out of her interface and looked through the collection of tools included, a touch surprised and relieved that her Fine Arts skill included tattooing and information about the equipment as the kit would have been effectively useless without it. She picked up the tattoo gun and smiled when she got a window that popped up, informing her that she could basically give someone tattoos with three different magical effects, 'Deviant Fashion, Chompers, and Great Ass? That must mean the rest of my traits are better than common.'

'I'm not sure having a Great Ass is worth the tattoo slot but there are probably a bunch of girls that would pay for that,' Taylor mused as she read the message at the top that explained that she could also create minor tattoos based on her abilities. 'That's another way to make money if I can figure out how to build a decent reputation.'

Taylor set the kit on the table then focused and summoned her Wraith, causing a sort of ghostly, barely visible figure with indistinct features and clothing to appear in front of her. "Can you talk?"

"Yes," the wraith replied in an extremely monotone voice, not bothering to glance around or to give her more information.

"Do you have a name?" Taylor asked, wondering what she was supposed to call it.

"No," the wraith replied.

"Do you want one?" Taylor asked as she studied the strange creature.

"No," the wraith replied without any hesitation, like it hadn't even really considered the question before answering.

"Where are you from?" Taylor asked as she started making a simple silver ring with her Metallurgy power so she could enchant it.

"Nowhere, I was created for you," the wraith explained in the same monotone that it had been using, not seeming to care in the slightest about much of anything.

"Who created you?" Taylor asked, wondering if she'd get a straight answer.

"I don't know, I just know that I have to follow your orders and intent," the wraith replied, not seeming to care about its fate.

"Does that bother you?" Taylor asked as she swapped her healing ability for her Mirror ability and put her hand through her familiar as she tried to touch it, feeling like she'd just reached into a fridge.

"No," the wraith replied in the same flat tone it always used.

"Great," Taylor muttered as she used her Mirror ability and copied its Flight ability, getting the sense that the rest of its abilities would be dangerous to copy. She dismissed the wraith then focused on the ring and started enchanting it with the flight ability.

Feat Achieved! No broomsticks, create something that allows flight that isn't a broom.

"Weird," Taylor muttered as she read the achievement. She tapped the card and stared at the picture of a woman with melon sized breasts. 'Lactation? You're capable of lactating; the quality of milk that you produce scales with your physical stats and has unique qualities depending on your traits. What the fuck?!'

'Unique qualities depending on traits? How the hell would I even figure out the qualities?' Taylor complained as she picked up the tattooing kit and checked the list of effects. 'If I gave that tattoo to a brute, would they end up with addictive milk? Or milk that lets people build muscles faster?'

Taylor shook her head then selected the trait on her list. 'Drinking the enhanced milk repairs minor damage to teeth, cures acne and makes your hair healthier, it also gives females the ability to walk around naked without anyone finding it immoral or illegal for twelve hours.'

"Weird," Taylor muttered as she turned the trait off, surprised that the milk had some useful qualities. "At least I can turn it off," she muttered as she used her Metallurgy to create another silver ring, wanting to make a couple more flight rings before she got some sleep.
