I'll try making these kind of updates with some kind of frequency. Monthly? Every week? randomly?

Social media

I definitely had some positive feedback from twitter lately, I might have found out how should I proceed to get some engagement. Furaffinity also is not that bad, but much more trickier to get some following there, given how you get like 5 minutes of visibility when you post and then... kinda nothing, you need to funnel them from other socials. I'll focus my efforts on twitter, 1-2 hour sketches seem to do well enough!

Commissions and money

Tricky! Sustaining all my expenses with art it's a REAL challenge this year. All my revenue was basically from reddit, and during 2020-2023 I had no issues at all getting daily commissions and getting a real wage.

2024 showed me that things can get hard. A lot! I'm getting nearly 30-50% of what I did last year, but!

I have no intentions to back down and I have some saving, so I can still going and experiment until I find out another formula that works for me. I cannot really rely on reddit anymore for some reasons, I am still puzzled on what happened.

YCHs and learning to make characters with great appeal as adoptables might be the key to stand out a bit more. I'd also love to get more people here on Patreon, but I think that for the majority of people I need to offer something. Maybe tutorials? Or step-by-step artworks? Or more NSFW? I'll experiment!

What's the goal?

If I'm able to get some passive income I'll be able to spend more time for personal stuff instead of working on commissions for 90% of the time. That means that I can spend more time on personal projects. It might be a bit too common but I have a plot and some chapters written ready for a webtoon. By no means I think that it will groundbreaking, but I think that I will grow a lot as an artist by doing some big project. Obviously I'll need much, much more patrons, but it's not impossible.

Also, given enough patrons/passive income, I'll be able to stand out a bit by making music for that myself, as I have a good background in music composition. A comic with its own music!

Getting some good following, patrons and good/big commissions is the key to get to that.

it is the first time I speak bluntly here, but I feel kinda better to tell you what's going on. See ya tomorrow!

Exploring and experiencing multiple styles and mediums of art can only help your own grown. Go write that book, draw that comic and compose that music!

Super

I'm very happy to support you

Have you considered opening a Fiverr account for more income?

Manu stuff

thank you so much!! you don't know how much I appreciate it =D it means a lot!

Manu stuff

Indeed! When experimenting in other areas, it really opens the mind to new stuff. Exciting stuff ahead of me if I'm able to do that, can't wait =)

Manu stuff

Yes, I have. It's incredibly tricky to get it started, and the problem is that I would need to charge a lot more there.

Manu stuff

Fiverr is incredibly competitive and from what I've seen artists try to one-up each other selling stuff basically for nothing. Also, Fiverr takes 20% of the total commission, and added to the taxes I already pay it's really too much to handle.
