Why all the microphone tapping, Tom? Are you adjusting the levels between lines or something?

Tapping might be to mark segments so they're visible from the waveform.

Yup basically a quieter version of CLAP and you can do even make a code, 2 taps = good take, 3 taps = ignore etc

When I tap the mic I get a distinctive looking visible waveform to the right of the correct take, which makes it easy for me to splice them all out :)
