Just catching up on this series now, hugely inspirational Tom. I'm inching for an adventure similar to this and this has given me the push I needed. Top effort.

Gareth

Considering at the start of the journey you were told that bike would fall apart after not too long, what a little soldier it was

Ed

Tom would you consider doing a series like this again but for your Barcelona to Berlin trip? That would be mint

Jack Talbot

This was a great story, from start to finish. Please could you do a walking commentary of the Barca to Berlin trip?

Tom Buckley

What a way to start the weekend

I’m a brummie (loosely, actually from Shirley) and now I live in Vienna round the corner from wombats hostel. Was super cool to hear about you going to all these places I know like Hermann Strandbar (the beach bar on the Kanal) and the travellers bar! Get in Tom, sounds like a sick adventure!

Incredible achievement mate. Im currently on my first cycle trip now- Before this series I never even considered it, I saw cycling as something for professionals or hobbyists in spandex on expensive bikes who always seem to trudge in the pub in packs of 4 while I try to enjoy an afternoon pint. Like a community I just wasn’t part of. And didn’t want to be if I’m honest 😆 Now I’m in a little polish village one night away from Berlin after setting off in Tallinn a couple weeks back. There’s been plenty of tough stretches to get through, much of it my own making, but in the end you always do and there’s something so great about that feeling. Maybe I took the zero-training-needed notion a little too literally hahah but I’ve made it this far and I’m so excited for the big cities and long nights ahead. Thank you truly

This series has been a pleasure to watch! What an achievement to look back on, and what a great story to be able to tell.

James Lester

I live for this series. Always a pleasure when you upload another one.

Sam Wiström

Said it before but top tier content, worth the price of admission ten times over. What would you say was the best night out, seen over the whole trip? And how long were you away, I think you said it was 6 weeks earlier?

Sam Wiström

You didn't ask but if you get out to clubs in Berlin and like techno I can recommend Sisyphos, was there just the other week. They're also not notoriously strict with clothing policy, especially if you get there kinda late in the night.

Paul Cooke

Bratislava is one of my favourite places in the world, wonderful. Seeing glimpses of it made me smile. Budapest as well.

I can't believe you cycled through my hood. Unfortunately I didn't know you then, so could you just repeat your whole journey? :D If you ever come to Austria again and need something, like in How not to Travel, we are here for you :)

Tenement Funster by Queen :)

Truly inspiring. I'm turning 30 and married, but desperately crave this type of adventure. Not sure how, or what type of adventure I'll end up doing, but one day I will. Thanks for this, Tom.

Shane Ewing

What did you do with your bike and shoes? Viking funeral on the Danube?

Sierra Shellabarger

Tommm is your band Kinds of Light still active? The Live in fiction EP is one of my favorite pieces of music of all time

Duarte Quintela

This was a great series. Up there with "How not to travel Europe" (which, by the way is the best series I have ever seen in Youtube). I'm an old man now, but the depression bit when younger resonated with me a lot. We all have different paths to get out of it, however there is always that doubt lurking in the back of our mind. These videos are an inspiration, keep up the good work!

G.

loved this series!

Einar

This series was awesome! You inspired me to do a little solo traveling this summer

Romysh Bellucci

Queen - Tenement Funster Don't know the song but you made me google it ;)

geowizard

Get in there Arben. Be bold, absorb every moment and most importantly never stop peddling!

geowizard

I believe I was out there for 7 weeks in total. My best night out is hard to pick. For me it depends on the crowd you get in your hostel, which is pretty random. I think the best crowds for me were in Bruges, Munich and Salzburg. The most impressive place for a night out was probably Budapest.. Glad you enjoyed mate!

geowizard

Who knows, maybe I'll recreate this journey 10 years on!

geowizard

It's never too late! although admittedly much harder with a wife and kids!

geowizard

Good question. My shoes are still in my moms garage. The bike was sold for the equivalent of about 60 euros to a man who worked behind the bar at wombats hostel in Budapest!

geowizard

That's amazing to hear. I'll tell the other guys in the band that you said that! we aren't active right now no. Me and Liam (the singer) have been hard at work recording my album, which will be done this year. After that we plan to write new material!

Roy de Waard

thanks for this series tom, makes me want to go on a solo trip again. never been a fan of hostels because i appreciate my privacy. but after watching this series i definitely going to give it another shot

Alex C

Just bloody adore this series

Oscar Nissin

Just saw this series for the first time, and I'm trying to catch up...but where's part 1? Also, the part 2 isn't under this tag neither!

Trym Sørsdal

Great series! Enjoyed every second of it and has been a good companion for doing dishes in the evenings. Do you think it would ever be feasible to do a straght-ish line mission with a bike?

Guy Robertson

Loved this series so much, really inspiring! Was the trip as a whole an expensive one? Or did you find staying in hostels and travelling by bike made it relatively affordable?

Alex

Amazing journey Tom, really inspiring.
