Here's a little treat for you Patreons. As usual take advantage of the subtitles as there may be some Geordie/brummie ramblings that might be hard to understandIt was supposed to be a "leisurely" day out. It wasn't supposed to be a YouTube video. But then we checked the weather forecast. Only then did we get the feeling that this might make for some pretty good content. We were right.   Join myself, Ben Cook (from Dribbling Britain) and Adam Cook (no relation) as we attempt to run across Wales in one day in some of the worst conditions these hills have seen in recent years. With thigh deep snow and temperatures reaching up to -9°C, this was always going to be challenging and eventful, what it ended up being was down right dangerous.

We picked the worst day imaginable to run across a country..

Jack wells

Yeah this is sick 👌

Floge

Nice! I remember someone in the comments of the earlier announcement guessing it would be this!

Bertil Bay

Not that stupid of an idea, all things considered. It’s not as if you have tried to walk across Wales in a straight line four times.

Daniel MacPhee

Surprise surprise!!! (Song By Cilla Black )

John Kossmann

Glad you made it out safely and can go on many more adventures !

Me... Ian

That looked hideous but well done to the three of you.

Simon Chapman

Fair play to you all, that was immense!!

I live in the US so I'll try to use a metric calculator for this comment. Where I live it gets down to - 25, with wind chills - 34. As far as ambient temperatures go, - 7 to - 9 I feel like are the worst. When it gets really cold like - 17, the air done something. I'm no scientist but it's like it dries out, like the air kind of leaves you alone a little. But - 9 it's like the air has teeth.

Alex Murray

I bet that is a farmer on a tractor getting pissed off with the blocked Road so put the snow around Ben's car!

ed_von_slack

things like this are just the cherry on top of a great saturday night - thanks mate!

Fredithewhale

Great video Tom! On to the next adventure

Nick

Another unreal effort here, and some more fantastic storytelling. Top job.

MrWendell

Loved it! Glad you all made it safe, the top of that hill was gnarly!

Jaakko R

Those jokes about grown men being infatuated with strange formations of ice are true after all. Nice adventure again Tom!

Matthew Moffatt

That mountain section looked fucking brutal mate, felt a bit guilty sat here in my nice warm flat. Great stuff 👍

Ivy Chan

Great adventure, great video!!! Good that you guys survived the trip!

Dale Thompson

Incredible Tom, well done to you and the guys. How much did you train for this / what did it look like?

Blayce

great video tom, actually really enjoyed this one more than id imaged. Just a different look and feel from the usual video and especially since im aussie.

Adam

Ayo my name is Adam Cook aswell

Ryan Fettes

I would love to know how you trained to be able to do ultra running

geowizard

Personally just a few 10 mile runs in my local area as well as a 26 mile walk/run in the moderately hilly Cannock chase forest was enough for this, but I knew I had a solid base level of walking from Wales 4, 2 months earlier. You'd be surprised what you can achieve with the "walk uphill, run flat/downhill" method. Most of it is just grit. Although my body type is suited to these long runs. Hope this helps!

Oh amazing thanks. I'm a powerlifter so my body definitely isn't suited. I did walk 25km easily on Sunday though.

geowizard

that's no easy feat! it's all relative

Ben Horsley-Summer

Came here to say the same. Hats off to the new editor.

I think the editor is a great idea to free up more of your time for more adventures and content.

Joey Deschamps

should’ve brought Xavier Cook from HNTTE 4 to fulfill the Cook hat trick
