Back when I was  young regular bar-goer, I marveled (and admittedly cringed sometimes) at the older dudes who were still hanging out in the bars. Gay culture can be quite ageist , as we all know, and I am not proud to say I judged those men. In the arrogance and ignorance of youth, we assumed something must‘ve been whack with these gran’ pas still trying to look vital by dressing too young and mackin’ on all us still vital and pretty young things. I think we thought aging was like a disease you could somehow avoid if you just stayed away (and definitely didn’t  fuck) older men. Little did we know the curve balls life was going to throw at our heads in the future. in hindsight, I now appreciate how those older men didn’t let gayculture define them. I respect how hard it was for them to still have their health and humor back then when HIV was  taking out so many of their peers daily. Anyway, this strip was inspired by some of the oldsters I observed having fun, shooting pool hitting on us tenderonis! (I shoulda given ‘em sum….🤣)
