DP Steve Yedlin Blows the Lid Off Camera Resolution Myths (Patreon)

Amazing in-depth look into resolutions and perceptual detail. Pretty much more resolution and pixels isn't always better. Anything beyond 4k and even 2k seems to be a waste if your just cramming the camera sensor for the sake of hitting 4k instead of quality sensors among other things. Very insightful. Perceptual quality is much more important and this requires much more than just "resolution + megapixels"

I highly recommend you guys interested in VFX and Film to watch this and take into account the information he provides on how to improve "perceptual" sharpness and focus on those qualities over just resolutions alone.
