Hey guys! Now that the Arnold GPU Beta is out I decided to check things out a bit and see how the sampling and speed performance is doing in comparison to Arnold CPU and another GPU engine, Redshift.

This scene is a simple 1080p interior scene with basic shaders and a bit difficult indirect lighting GI. I think Arnold is off to a great start for a beta but it still has a lot of room for improvement, and for now, the CPU side of things is generally a much better solution in my opinion not only in the sampling/adaptivity but also features.

I used my dual 20-80ti for the GPU rendering and my Dual Xeon 40 Thread 3.1ghz CPU for Arnold CPU rendering.  Hopefully, things continue to develop in the right direction and it's great to see GPU rendering being adopted.

Thanks again for all the support on Patreon, and as a reminder please update to the new $10 tier before the end of the month to get this months tutorial and continued Patreon exclusive tutorials/assets in the future.
