Omg, I cant wait to watch this with you guys - I cant believe TRR is doing Tyler Perry movies. Not sure what you know of TP. But just be aware, Perry makes movies HEAVILY for not just the black community but especially the boomer black generation, thats why Medea (who is a combination of TP’s Mom and Aunt) is relevant in many of these movies. Now usually he rides a balance between Madea movies that divide between appealing to boomers (Madea) and black Gen X (the younger leads with relationship issues - because thats what we gen x have - relationship issues ) 😂 Then he has other films without Madea: Why Did I Get Married 1 & 2, Family that Preys, For Colored Girls, ect… appeal to black Gen X. Just wanted to say that so you understand why Madea will come and go in various films as you take this journey. Now that was my Virgo morning sermon for the day… about to watch this with you guys! 🍿

In the south people drink sweet tea. lol Also Madea is what we call the older women in our families. It stands for mother dear.

I had a grandma like Madea.. you loved her, but you feared her.. She was awesome, she didn't put up anyone treating us bad, but at the same time, if we didn't something bad, she had no problems letting us know how she felt about it. I miss her. So watching these brings back memories of her. The character Joe kills me, i have seen this a few times and never caught what he said to Charles when she gets up from the table after giving her the signed divorce papers.. He said, 'go get her Ike Turner" (For those that don't know who that is, he was Tina Turners husband who seriously abused her for years)... Cracks me up,.

I don't think you were mislead per say, because the latter madea movies imo are mostly primarily comedy first but still always have that heart and drama instead of being a drama with comedy like this film. Love this franchise ! Grew up on them !

Watching Greg try and understand this movie in real time was great 🤣. "They told me this was a comedy?" "This is the same movie where he dresses up as a woman in a fatsuit?"
