Make sure to have them watch the spin-off Hobbs and Shaw between 8 & 9. Hobbs and Shaw probably one of the top three films in this franchise. :)

I like this movie a lot. There aren't a lot of surprises, nor is the dialogue likely to be nominated for best screenplay but director Rob Cohen has put together a great mix of color, action visuals, and a pulse-pounding soundtrack. It's a slick piece of filmmaking. I like the ending after the climactic final showdown. They live to drive another day.

Tara

Hi Tara and Aaron, you were right about the chemistry between Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Over the course of the franchise, they became like brothers and after Paul died, Vin named his daughter after him. Vin is also godfather to Paul Walker's daughter. No spoilers, but don't be surprised when you see some other actors in the next couple of movies, there are some colorful characters, who I personally really like. It's been a while since seeing this first movie and when Dom is talking about how his dad died in a car accident, it really hit home since that's what happened to Paul. If I remember correctly they were filming one of the movies, I can't remember which one, but they stopped production for Thanksgiving, I think and Paul was the passenger in a car that crashed. I believe it happened on a Saturday night and production was supposed to start up again that Monday. Paul's brothers stepped in to help finish the movie.

This came out when I was in highschool, and I lived in a town with a race track so racing was a really big thing with the highschool boys. It was fun cause every time a new one of these Fast movies came out you would see a load of race cars like in the movie, with a lot of Rice if you know what I mean, so it's really a nostalgic thing whenever I rewatch these, Thanks for reacting to them!
