Us: This movie is very under appreciated in my opinion, It’s always consider the worst of the three Jordan Peele movies. But a thing that stuck with me was the horror version of Get 5 on It, I’m curious if y’all like it, and what other songs could y’all see get horror versions of them.

iameNeRG (Rodney Gant)

Us - Hey Greg and Andrew! I hope you guys loved the movie. I remember back when the first trailer came out, it flipped the melody for the song "I got 5 on it" to give it a more sinister tone, which eventually became the theme for the movie. I'm curious on how you guys feel about horror composers flipping regular songs to give them a creepier tone? It's not an element that most people think about, but I love it.

Malik Currie

Us - it took me a watch or two to realize that the villain actually won this time 😂 how do you guys feel about that reveal/realization? #JusticeforRed

Halloween 2 - SHEJECT NATION!!! I'm curious as to how you all feel on this take of Michael Myers. I found it to be too grotesque and unnecessary. Especially for what this movie did to Annie's character (Danielle Harris). Seeing little Jamie like that in the same movie franchise is something I will never forgive Rob Zombie for.

The Matrix: The world has changed so much since 1999, and The Matrix has been broken down so much over the years. How would you interpret the meaning of 'The Matrix' today in a world with AI, deepfakes, and simulation theories everywhere? Love the work you all do. :)

Halloween 2: I always get weird looks when I say I love this movie, it is one of my favourites of the series, I know the white horse stuff is weird but it’s works for me. But I’m curious if the supernatural stuff worked for y’all, or do y’all like the straight forward slasher type of stuff. But I love the shejects, I’ve been watching y’all since y’all covered The Purge series, and I’ve watched all the movies y’all have covered so far, and I can’t wait to see what y’all will react to next.

Halloween 2 - Do you prefer Danielle Harris as a young Jamie Lloyd in Halloween 4-5 or Annie in the Rob Zombie films? Also how cool is it to see Chucky’s Brad Dourif play her father in this franchise? Both characters were pretty small roles in the original Halloween so it’s good to see the Rob Zombie version give them more screen time, especially as they are portrayed by two horror legends

For Us: Hi Greg and Andrew, I wrote an opinion article on this film a few years ago—it was a really interesting one to dig into. Us seems to hold a mirror up to society, exploring themes of class divide, social inequality, and the instinct to protect what we care about most—raising questions of nature vs. nurture. The film’s use of doubles and parallelism adds layers of meaning. How did you interpret the theme of duality in Us?

The Matrix - Maybe you should circle back to this comment after you do the sequels, but there has never been a greater let down to an amazing film as the three sequels are to this. If there is a bigger drop off in sequels to an original film than this I’m all ears.

It has often been said that The Matrix can be seen as a modern retelling of Plato’s Cave allegory, or the Jesus-savior metaphor, or even how Neo’s journey echoes Buddhist thought — awakening from illusion into true awareness. And that all seems to apply, but in your opinion, is Neo a hero because he is The One, or is he a hero because others feed his ego with belief, and only then does he become The One? What’s your perception of that after a fresh viewing experience? Thank you, Tara and Aron! Always lovely to watch you watch 😋🫶🏼

Tara and Aaron for The Matrix: perhaps without the context of the movie, I'm sure you've seen some references to The Matrix in other movies and shows. Do you have a favorite you can think of, and how do you feel about the last impact the movie has had on popular culture?

ResonanceZ

The Matrix - I’ve actually taken a couple of college classes that have this movie as required viewing, one of which was Philosophy. Here’s a bit of a curveball for a question: what do you feel is the most disturbing thing whether shown or told in the movie? For me it has to be the shutting of Neo’s mouth.

Tim Porkroll

Greg and Andrew for US: going from Get Out to something like US which preys more on the side of our human fears of liminal spaces, such as abandoned malls and whatnot, how do you think the aspect of a body swap added to that fear, and have you ever tried exploring a liminal space like a mall or an abandoned house or mental hospital?

ResonanceZ

Us - Here’s a bit of a silly question after a heavy movie. If you had to fight yourself, do you think you’d win? Would you fight dirty against yourself?

Michael Medina-Kathuria

Halloween 2 - Hey Shejects! Hope ya'll are having a good day! There was a lot of drama behind the scenes of these films and this one in particular had a lot of interference from the studio causing insane tension between Rob Zombies and the Weinstein's. One instance include 2 weeks of shooting being slashed from the schedule on the first day of filming, forcing Zombie to tear out pages of the script that he would not be able to film otherwise. My question, which I'm sure may have been hinted at during the reaction, did you notice this struggle in the final product?

Michael Medina-Kathuria

US - Hey Greg and Andrew! Big Hugs! Fun fact about US, Jordan Peele gave the actors a list of 11 horror films to watch in preparation so that when he gave them direction they would understand what he was referencing. Was there anything you noticed that reminded you of other horror films you've seen? One of the films was the Sixth sense and I noticed some similarities in the long close up shots of emotion (usually tears) that are featured in that film.

Liam Harrold

are you the one Aaron? the Matrix finally has you lol

Ryan Best

can you upload the friends reactions please

Matrix - Hey Tara/Aaron, when this movie released, I was 19 and at that point we were also changing as a society with the integration of technology. The older I get I look at this movie (and the other 2 films) as a cautionary tale. Being Gen X- we're the generation with one foot in the world before tech exploded and the other foot in today's dependency on tech. We're increasing technological advancement; while disconnecting from human connection. We're allowing corporate greed and control; while making corporations more and more in control of our lives. I feel like this movie was already speaking to this issue before it even became a thing. Neo being 'the 1' is about staying connected to 'the 1' - 'you' - 'being human' and continuing to 'naturally' grow and develop the soul while tech increases around us. It is our imbalance between being human and tech that I fear will be our own worst enemy. We may not see it now... but the groundwork seems to be set.

ResonanceZ

Halloween - My favorite horror duo! I'll admit I never saw this movie so my first time will be the watchalong with you two! I've seen a few Rob Zombie movies and while I do like his style, I often don't like how his characters are written, usually unlikable. My question is his style enough to make up for the substance? Also, are there any other movies that come to mind where style over substance works? The movie that comes to my mind is Sin City.

THE MATRIX (Tara & Aaron) - There were two black cats maybe Tara still in the Matrix. Question do you ever get viruses on your computer.

Jay Rushton

US (Greg & Andrew) - Question would you kill you double there.

Maurice Gray Jr

The Matrix. Were you at any point confused when they went back and forth between reality and the Matrix? I wondered which was which a few times

Gabriel

The matrix: would YOU want to know if we were in a simulation, or you’d prefer to be unaware ?

Pack Attack

Halloween 2 - how did you feel about michael taking off his mask and talking to Loomis at the end, that might only be in the directors cut so if you didnt watch that version what are your thoughts on that happening in general. Also just so you guys are not super confused the next movie is another timeline change, its a direct sequel to just the first movie.

FlyingScotsman4072

Tara & Aaron for The Matrix If you were Keanu/Neo in this movie and someone came up to you in a car and said "Hey I have a blue pill and a red pill do you want to go down the rabbit hole" Would you take the pills? I would be tempted but I don't think I'd do it lol.

Monica H

MATRIX: Cypher chose to return to the simulation because it offered a more comfortable life than that of the real world. Which would you choose? If it is reality, is there anything that would tempt you to reenter the simulation?

AWESOMEJoe Movie Reviews

Matrix: Hello everyone, my question for you is "Is Keanu Reeves great with this roll or would you have preferred Will Smith for the part since he was the one chosen for this part first but turned it down to do "Wild, Wild West" instead?

AWESOMEJoe Movie Reviews

"Us" Was the ending unexpectedly satisfying to you, or were you able to figure out how this film was coming to a close ahead of the film?

AWESOMEJoe Movie Reviews

"Halloween 2": Would you have preferred if the movie was a continuation of the hospital on the same night just like the original instead of what we had with the explanations being revealed way too soon in this movie or even at all?

Halloween II 2009. I don't know which cut y'all saw. But this is the end of the Remake Timeline. The Director's Cut explains that Laurie behaves horribly with Annie because her scars are a daily reminder of what she went through in the first movie and Laurie doesn't know how to process her guilt with her PTSD. Plus is implied Michael and Laurie share some sort of murderous "psychic" link due their blood relation but their visions are not real & her ghost mother (and the horse) are a pure manifestation of Michael's only happy memory in the Sanitarium as a kid. Do you guys think Laurie's behavior is justified considering her friends and "parents" (foster parents) died, her whole life was a lie, her dark past with the Myers, Loomis using her for money, and her brother tried to kidnap her? (and maybe kill her but its not really clear what Michael wants from Laurie) Do y'all think Loomis redeemed himself at the end?

Leon03

Halloween II 2009. The whole subplot of Michael and Laurie being siblings was introduced in the original Halloween 2 (1981) on a drunken case of writer's block as writer John Carpenter didn't knew how to properly explain why Michael was after Laurie in the original Halloween from 1978. He always regretted that plot point as Laurie was only supposed to get stalked by Michael just because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time (when she dropped the keys off the Myers house). Pure random stalker motivation which is scarier as it can happen to anyone. All the sequels and this remakes retained that sibling plot point because Halloween 2 was still written by John Carpenter and that movie took place in the same night (hospital). Halloween 2018 (and the rest of the new trilogy) ignores ALL the sequels except the first 1978 original. Making Laurie Strode unrelated to Michael whatsoever as that story beat DOESN'T exist at all in the original first movie. Do y'all think the franchise wrote itself in a corner for many years by making Michael mainly kill after family members and it would've been scarier if we had more movies of Michael going after random people & new characters since the beginning instead? P.S: BTW Yall should check out the short comic "Halloween: The first death of Laurie Strode " as its a brief storyline that narrates the events that lead to Laurie faking her death in Halloween H20 after she survived the hospital events from Halloween 2.

Leon03

Rob Zombie was obliged by Dimension Films ( Miramax) to do this sequel but he never had any plans when he was making his first Remake. His vision was constantly & heavily reworked by the producers which explains the editing, writing and the different cuts. He decided to end all the characters to stop further sequels from happening at least from his own timeline due the exhausting experience he suffered while making both movies. However in the reshoots (depending on the cut) Laurie was left alive and institutionalized just in case the studio made another sequel without him that would've followed Laurie going mad and start her own killing spring alongside a resurrected Michael. The plan was for it to come in 2013, and be called Halloween 3D. Do y'all think that canceled movie would've been interesting or it was better left off to restart the franchise with Halloween 2018?

I missed it! :((((
