I find it interesting that you guys felt no chemistry between the trio. I felt that was the best thing about the show. I saw that even if people had their complaints about the show they still felt the chemistry between the trio and felt that was one of the strongest points in the show. I know A LOT of people praised Walker (Percy) and Leah (Annabeth) for their chemistry in scenes and their scenes did go viral on social media. Also idk if Tara knows this but she said that if 1 and 2 were like 7 and 8 then the show would have blown up. It did blow up lol. The show was Disney+ second most streamed show after Bluey in 2024 and beat out all of their Marvel and Star Wars shows with over 3 billion minutes watched. It was also one of their only shows to not only get renewed so fast but also get a season renewed before the newest one even airs. They are already filming s3 and it was renewed a while back and we know of course that season 2 has not came out yet. They also won 8 Children’s and Family Emmy awards. The actors have also gotten awards individually as well. Their season 2 trailer also currently has 15 million views on youtube. The trailer overall pulled over 135.9M views across Youtube, IG, Tiktok, X, and Facebook. Disney also gave them their own (very well produced) podcast that will be airing after every episode for season 2. So yeah Disney is putting all their money on this show.

The editing is off starting around the 16 min mark or so. After Tara became unplugged.

i feel like your criticisms of the show aren’t new in any way whatsoever. like these are things people have been saying since the show aired so people getting angry over it feels strange to me because these are pretty valid criticisms. But i do hope you do season 2! i think some these criticisms are ones people have brought up before, i think the creators have listened and they said they’ve kept these things in mind when moving forward so I hope things improve next season because these are my favorite books of all time. It would be a shame if the show didn’t improve. Also Luke was in both movies, he was the one who Percy had the big final fight scene with at the end of the first one because they cut Ares out of the movie entirely. And instead of it being on the beach it was at the top of the empire state building. I hope you continue but I understand if you don’t. I think there will be a bigger audience for season 2 than season 1 since it’ll be coming out at the same time.

They did spend most of their money on episode 7 and 8 because their budget wasn’t that big . It also makes sense narratively that the mythical world feels more mythical than the real world 😂😂😂😂 . I’m going to have to fully disagree about Them having no chemistry . The show was a hit , it’s why they got 2 renewals and now a bigger budget . I personally believe Luke is far more well written in the show than the books . In the book he does it for the love of the game at first . Unlike the book and movie I think Luke will be a more compelling antagonist going forward because they showed us the glimpse of the gods he sees . We are not really supposed to disagree with his ideologies.

I think it's important to remember that this is book 1, an easy comparison is movie 1 of Harry Potter, and if you analyze movie 1 of Harry Potter you'll find a lot of the same things you guys were complaining about in this, such as lack of tension and danger for the majority of the story, some occasionally questionable acting from the children (although I'd say these kids are better than the trio was in movie 1 of Harry Potter already). But the tension and danger will increase each season, and from what we know about season 2 they're going to be increasing that a bit faster even than the books did. Similar to Harry Potter though, the story gets darker and more dangerous as the books progress. I think you guys did yourselves a disservice watching the movies first, because those movies were made as teen action movies in the era of Hunger Games and Twilight. And it gave you a false assumption that this is an action series, when it's really not. It tends to be more drama/mystery/adventure similar to Harry Potter. This is part of the reason the movies are so hated.

They do seem to have completely dropped the mystery element
