Wake Up Dead Man - WATCH ALONG!!

I was split between 1 and 2. But after re-watch and catching more things this is definitely my favorite by far.

Mbet

I think my favorite to least favorite is: 3, 1, 2

A. Saffari

A bit of a recency bias but I think this is my favorite of the three

NindoNas

Easily the best, and honestly in my top 10 films list now. Generational movie.

zenscience

I would rank this 3rd mostly because I have a lot of problems with religion. I loved Blanc's monologue about the church. My favorite Rian Johnson movie is Looper!

Adrian Wayne

I still love the 1st one more, and the 2nd one, while it is not a strong detective, it's just fun and the most rewatchable.

Adrian Wayne

Watching this for a second time it's even better!

Anna

My favorite is 1 but I think this one is the kindest. I have a strong bias against Christian movies and I think this was intentionally caring.

imo, I want to commend both yall n Rian for flirting with the political opinions/motifs. As someone who respectfully leans right, and a lover of film, its increasingly hard for Hollywood *not* throw shade at something they don't agree with The line these movies have walked have been fantastic, sure its a story about a detective going around solving improbable mysteries however all three have dealt with greed and the human condition. Yes Rian has characters that seem out of right field, Jacob, Duke, and now the boys in this film, but their "beliefs" if you will, are not spiked in the center. It always comes back to greed and the human condition. As such, I dearly hope that future installments keep this line and hold the mystery of human condition at the core of the movie. Definitely telling my future kids that there was another sherlock, Benoit Blanc. (speaking of which I do agree with the crew that he needs a little more than just the famous Detective, he has the drive from sherlock without the nicotine addiction haha)

Christian Seibold

"something they don't agree with" is an vast understatement, given what's currently happening. Let's not act like Hollywood isn't responding to a terrible evil in the world. Hollywood's actually in agreement with the Catholic Popes and tons of Churches on this too, not surprisingly.

Hannah Gs

I wish they had the balls to throw more shade at the right, especially now given the humanitarian crises they are causing.

Insane comment

Zane Platt

My only big critique is the way they try to absolve Grace. She beat a child and the movie just glosses past that and repeatedly says "poor grace" lmao.

Amber

I think you missed all the clues about the twisted characterization of Grace. “That poor girl” isn’t glossing over anything, the movie pulls away the distortion of Grace at several points, and the clear view of her that even Martha sees at the end is earned throughout the movie.
