Just my two cents: I think it would be a great follow up to heated rivalry with the new subs and new followers to continue in a similar track of queer shows represented here. It’s a really great thing for people to see non queer channels cover queer shows too! It means a lot! Plus it’s a really sweet and almost polar opposite type of queer show in comparison to Heated Rivalry that is also not tragic or sad but so different. Either show is great though!

this will be a tough call but, honestly, I'd love for Greg and John to watch Season TWO of Bridgerton. and to get there, they'd have to watch Season 1. but I am 100% confident that Bridgerton S02 will wreck you and be right up your street. You will find SO many universal themes and you will be able to contribute so much of your own experience... I would stick around if you were to pick that up ^^

while Heartstopper is more queer without a doubt, I'd argue that Bridgerton also has some really strong queer themes. as a queer person and HR's biggest fan (in my own head, don't quote me on that :D), Bridgerton is immensely important to me. I'd love to hear the guys' opinion on the world of Bridgerton and everything it entails, and promotes, and suppresses.

yes, Queen Charlotte is my second favourite Bridgerton season (prequel, or however you want to call it). mostly because it also deals with some pretty complex themes that cannot be analysed by black-and-white thinking - which makes it perfect for John and Greg <3 (also season 3, for obvious reasons, but no spoilers ;) ) can you tell who my favourite characters are yet? :D

Dang, I wish it were Fellow Travelers over Heartstopper. Not saying Heartstopper is bad; it's just not my taste. But I know a lot of people, especially the younger people, love that show for what it is, so it's cool that yall are checking it out. Im behind on Bridgeton so i would pick that one so i can watch with yall as an excuse! Lol.

Bridgerton was one of those shows my SIL basically tied me down and forced me to watch and I enjoyed many parts of Season 1 but had no interest continuing into Season 2 because I had no attachment to "Anthony" as a character but maybe that's changed now that I have seen Jonathan Bailey in Wicked so I now feel like I have a better grasp of him as an actor and I find that it's faces I recognize that pull me into shows/movies more than the trailers or plots and keeps me invested so maybe I will finally continue forward and give my SIL a gift in the new year that she has been wanting... Someone she can talk about this show with past Season 1! 😅🤣🤣

Like they need watch the Pitt season two is January 8th. Or The Studio the funnies show of decade. They finally watched Severance why like watch other Emmy winning show. Plubius is great but finale was lacking there. Finally the show Yellowjackets is Emmy nominated with great cast list but nobody will check it out. Jonathan Bailey is also great in Fellow Travelers, which is a limited series he did in between Bridgerton and Wicked. Definitely recommend. It also has Matt Bomer as the other main character. He's also in 1 episode of Heartstopper, lmao. Imagine the gays, going from seeing him on Bridgerton, to Fellow Travelers with Matt Bomer, and then directly to Wicked, LMAO. That pretty much sums up why we all love him.

Heartstopper was *very* popular 4 years ago when it started. It has since finished with 3 seasons. Bridgerton was just as popular, started about 5 years ago, and is still ongoing, so it's going to get more recent traction.

To be fair, lots of people think Heartstopper would elicit a great discussion as well. I get Pluribus is all the rage right now, but there are lots of important shows that would create good discussion, and Pluribus is not the only important show that exists. Personally, I think Moonlight and Fellow Travelers are arguably significantly more important than Pluribus and Bridgerton, and maybe even Heartstopper. But they can only do so much at once, and those were not part of the options of the post.

It is however a significantly more unique show then Heartstopper is and one that would elicit a more intellectually interesting conversation than Heartstopper will. I'm pointing out that Pluribus was not one of the options, and that claiming it's the "best show on TV" is an opinion that not everyone shares, and thus it shouldn't be *expected* that they do the show just because you like it. They also aren't ignoring your request. Respectfully, I feel the need to defend Heartstopper, because I don't like the dismissiveness of it as a show. Heartstopper has different themes than Heated Rivalry, but of course it gets conflated because it's another LGBTQ+-focused show. Heartstopper has lesbian characters. It's also about young people, something which Heated Rivalry is not. This creates different situations and represents different experiences from Heated Rivalry. They've watched a lot of straight-led shows back to back, but I'm not complaining that they're repeating straight-led shows too often. That's because just like not all straight-led shows are the same, it's just as true for queer-led shows. So, I don't appreciate the double standard, or this idea that queer shows should have some quota. They've done tons of scifi shows and movies on here, they've only done 5 queer-focused movies/shows, and all but one of them were about gay men, specifically. So queer media is not over-represented, and I think it would create great discussion to have a show with lesbian main characters, and a show that shows positive representation for young folks. And, btw, Heartstopper is just as intellectually interesting as Pluribus, so I resent the implication that Pluribus is necessarily more important just because it's scifi and existential.

You appear to have some weird agenda or personal feelings that are making your responses over the top The reason I suggested Pluribus is literally because it is very different from what they have been reacting too and would make for a much more heady kind of discussion (and I am a big fan when they discuss shows with morally ambitious subject matter ala The Last of Us) Hopefully you learn to chill out a bit and not feel the need to go into attack mode over a TV show suggestion next time

Pluribus does a fantastic job of featuring a gay lead character (which you observably didn't even know based on your response) and making her fully three demensional while very deftly using her sexuality and relationship with her personal identity to inform her initial outlook on the invaders So next time, you should probably actually watch a show before you try to get on a high horse because the majority of your defense makes zero sense in context... I'm other words, it is literally a show featuring a lesbian lead character and about personal identity, freedom of choice and so on. My advice, next time you imply someone is a bigot and rant about their suggestion being an attempt to move people away from gay content, make sure the content they are suggesting isn't also gay content 🤣

And nb4: I'm not hating on Pluribus, and I'm well aware the main character is lesbian. My point is stories for young audiences matter, especially when they portray a wide variety of experiences. The queer community and allies need to be uplifting shows for younger people, not hating on them, because when I was younger, I didn't have shows like Heartstopper, but if I did, I would not have felt so bad about myself.

Idk, bridgerton's been like 1-2% ahead of heartstopper for the past day, lol. This is a particularly hard choice, so that's probably why it's so close. A lot of us that like one show like both shows, so I bet most of us will be happy either way.
