Leah Mcginnis

loved the opening bit. online and media literacy is dying in my opinion. cause it was hinted about will since season 1.

Stardust_and_Madness

Happy new year everyone! Thanks for a fantastic year. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in 2026. Loved this finale, I got my wish that they didn’t kill off my two faves so everything else was cake.

Tavia Shields

Happy New Year! As for the morons complaining. Stupid as could be. Saying it’s woke or boring. Dumb.

Leah Mcginnis

i cried for so much of this episode and with every show there are good episodes and bad ones but at the end of the day this show is a favorite of mine

Jay Rushton

Okay the plan worked meaning knew two characters killed off then. Midwest Indiana was founded by Presbyterian church grew up as my church and weird kids graduated same year as me. The diner then Enzos was based on Foxfires restaurant funded by Jim Davis creator of Garfield only ate there couple times very pricey and get open table often there. Once more Vecna is decapitate which is reference to Kaz using vorpal sword. Gary Gyxax played Vecna only killed by Kaz played by Eric Gygax which totally was unplanned but later was better end. My final input final was very well done but Welcome to Derry was better final and Pennywise gets villain of 2025. Prediction Andrew/Tara will be glad with final. Well its 2026 and Roxy got watch 111 series and The Pitt is Jan 8 on. Now to sleep but shall return beep beep Roxy.

I thought that was an absolutely incredible final. One of the best I have ever seen because it nailed what I cared about personally. For the people who were more focused on the supernatural elements, I can see why it isn't as satisfying but I loved the show because of the characters and their relationships with each other and they were near perfect there (the only thing I didn't like was them not bringing up Dustins girlfriend and Murry/Randy not having a small ending scene for their characters) It was uplifting, melancholic, wistful and everything in between. It recognized that what actually matters was the people not the plot. The focus was on how much these characters grew and it paid so much respect to everything everyone had gone through. Something I particularly love is that it didn't take the easy way out while still being a hopeful ending. Steve is still searching for love but he loves his life in Hawkins and is coaching and teaching kids which is his calling. The older group (Johnathan, Nancy, Robin and Steve) are all going onto the rest of their lives and they recognize that they will never be as close as they were but they will always try to make time for each other The young adults (Will, Mike, Dustin, Luke and Max) are leaving their childhood but they take one last chance to embrace it And then there is the ending of Mike and Eleven which I adore because Mike's theory could be right, they could even reunite one day and make a life together. But... maybe she did sacrifice herself so that the people she loves could have good lives and that is beautiful too Or maybe she did survive but will never see Mike again and will go onto find new love while Mike does the same which is beautifully sad

Zane Platt

I felt the same way and cried a lot because while it didn't nail the supernatural stuff, it nailed the stuff I cared most about, which is the characters. They paid so much respect to the characters and put so much thought into their endings, into tieing them up with the history of the show and making sure that they were hopeful but a bit sad. Just like real life, the characters are at the end of one journey but the show does a great job of acknowledging that while that is over, they still have lives to lead and while some questions are answered many will remain unanswered (which is just like real life) Steve is still looking for love but he has a purpose with teacher/coaching kids and is still best friends with Dustin. Will Mike or Eleven find one another or was it just a hopeful story and even if she is alive, maybe she and Mike never see each other again and find new love Stuff like that is why I am so damn impressed because the endings were earned and felt very real

Are we gonna get a video with Greg and John answering some questions as to how us fellow Rejects feel about the finale too?👀 (a few days or so after we get to digest it all a bit more) like a nice mini podcast vibe - what worked, what didn't, what plot points we felt could have been addressed a bit stronger or feelings on the series overall?😁🙈

Melissa Creel

I loved this ending. They didn't turn Henry into some poor misunderstood kid. He didn't have to kill that guy. He had already taken the gun away. Maybe knock him out but him bludgeoning the guy to death is way over the line. So badness was always in him and he embraced the mind flayer. LOVE the Hopper and Joyce scene. They both desserve to be happy. Loved Dustin's graduation speach and the fact he did what Eddie said he would do in S4. Loved the last D&D game, seeing a snapshots of their lives. And Steve teaching kids, perfect. This went longer than I meant for it too but I overall really liked this finale.

So many close calls seemed to be the theme of this season—especially in this finale with El, Steve, and Nancy, lol. Not gonna lie, seeing Hopper think he killed El got me. This group has always been brave, but they really went all in this time. And Joyce? Easily wins “Most Badass Mom of the Year" (yes, recency bias prevails here for me). Karen had her moments, sure, but Joyce delivering those final blows to Vecna and chopping his head off? Iconic. That said, I was hoping for more from Vecna’s storyline. His post-transformation arc once we saw him get powers felt like it was trimmed down or rushed. Even the final battle—while intense—didn’t feel like the epic showdown we were building toward. Having it play out alongside the Mind Flayer clash made it feel a bit watered down too. Low-key, I also wanted more from the fight with the Mind Flayer🤷🏾‍♂️ When they set the Mind Flayer on fire, I thought it would have affected Will, the kids or even Vecna, because of the hive mind, but nothing happened. Glad nothing happened, but a bit weird as well. Also… how exactly did they escape The Abyss? They climbed into it from the top of a crumbling radio tower, which made it feel nearly impossible to get back out. Unless they found a way and escaped through a portal in the Upside Down? And the other 11 missing kids, what the hell are their parents thinking happened to them?!😂 Sooo, Dr. Kay and company just decided to leave after El vanished? Just like that, no more military presence? Ok, cool. On a lighter note—shout out to all the previously MIA parents who magically showed up for graduation 😂 (excluding Will and Mike’s mom, of course—they’ve always been real ones). But seriously, where were these parents all season, lol? (Don't come for me, apart from Will and Mike's mom, you'd think the rest of the kids didn't have any parents😂) And Vicki? What happened there? I thought Robin promised her a date at Enzo’s once everything was over, but we never got closure on that😞. We don't even have any insight on how their story wrapped up, unless I missed something. And Murray, what happened with him? As for El possibly being alive—it didn’t hit as hard as I expected. I’m glad she’s doing her own thing, but the way they revealed it felt a little off, emotionally. Overall, it was a good finale. A lot happened, but it sometimes felt like we were racing from scene to scene just to reach the end. The 2-hour run time might not have been necessary—some parts dragged. Still, I’m grateful for the ride. What a run it’s been. Thanks for the memories, Stranger Things!✌🏾️

Also, didn't Will partially come out in the previous episode because he was afraid Vecna would use it against him? It felt like that setup should’ve paid off somehow in the finale—even just a moment where Vecna tries to exploit it and Will pushes back like, “You can’t hurt me anymore.” Surprised they didn’t follow through on that. Unless they did and I missed it.

Melissa Creel

On another note I love Hopper's scene with Mike. About a choice of which road to go down. Our daughter passed away when she was 13 and I still have to push myself to not dwell on it and it's been many years. Yet still feels like it just happened. When Vecna showed him Sarah I blurted out OH NO and started crying. I can identify with Hop that way. In first season when he lied about Sara living with her mother, I felt that. Most the time you just don't want to get into it because it's usually a long story. What he told Joyce in season 2 is so true. You never get over it but it does get easier.

Master_T

Overall I thought the finale was great. I think it was a weird choice for Joyce to be the one to get the final blow on Vecna. I think it would've made more sense for it to be Will or Max personally

Zach Zbinden

yeah I have some problems with the finale but no problems with the characters. they always do right by the characters imo and knowing it was the end of 10 years and we won't get any more made it more emotional. the tears started early after they finished the battle and they didn't stop. they hit me good and I'll miss this show and the characters.

camilla

sending endless virtual hugs, stranger on the internet ❤️‍🩹🫂

camilla

imo i think they kinda did follow up on that when he so easily this time took control over Vecna in this ep and told him "I’m not afraid anymore" although it may have been a really rushed follow up, at least it was SOMETHING 😆

Daniela Mascia

In my opinion one of the biggest mistake was to release the finale a few days after like this with no big plot twists (because they hyped it up soo much in press), bc I felt the final fight was rushed too, the first time I watched it but then I watched the last 4 episode together and it felt just right and more as a fight…..and I think people are not used to have “happy ends” in shows like that, I’m actually happy that they didn’t kill everyone off and gave them a life after the suffering…. Sooo would I do some things different ? yes maybe, but you can’t make everyone happy and I’m sure everyone involved worked hard on this, I’m just happy we got finally a show till the end and full circle and not cancelled like everything nowadays 🙄🤣 Loved your reaction guys and happy new year!!! 🥳

Malik Currie

Seeing a Presbyterian church isn’t like seeing an Amish establishment or something 💀 you can have an Presbyterian church, Baptist church, Methodist church all in the same city 💀

Sapphire_Heart

There are some flaws mostly with Linda Hamiltons character development and we deserved a Henry Creel stand alone episode! But overall I was an emotional wreck (still am) by how the character's storyline ended which to me is a great finale. Something that really tugs the heart..

Jaydelle

Yeah, I wished they let that breathe a little given the setup they gave prior, but it is what it is at this point, lol

Jules R

Can't believe this show is done, end of an era....

camilla

"I wished they let that breathe a little" maaan i gotta say that’s for sure my biggest gripe with S5 and especially for the first hour of this last episode… but it’s not dampening my adoration for this show as a whole tho, never will. ☺️

stannedup

Loved this series, start to finish. Btw, that was not the first f bomb in the show.

Stephen Hert

Disagree. I thought it was poetic. He took momma bears boy. She wanted revenge. Loved it.

Jay Rushton

Like where is f bombs in the final or in previous like show. The art in the very end show is nice lot is page 119 of PHB. Strahd is best villain in 1989 I6 and I8 are fun modules which led to Ravenloft in 1988. Mike should be guy who created second edition of d n d in 1991 or third edition in 2000 and 3.5 was 2003 made then. It not finished totally we get animated show in 2026 which take place between season 2 and 3 there. This show is end of era like Mash and Lost. Like Prince really why not Michael Jackson music rights okay. Fun trivia there is RPG system called Kids on Bikes too.

Dakota Jones

Sure this season has its issues but at the end of the day it got me to wheep… and i loved these characters. New and old. So thank you duffer bros

Malik Currie

The fake out deaths were really annoying but other than that, great finale

Jay Rushton

Okay the f bomb was in you messed with the wrong family line it was censored in theater. Rumored the next show is the Curse of Strhad being set in 1990s. Netflix is buying out WB is there Pennywise/ Vecna crossover It/Stranger Things love to watch union. Okay Beep Beep Dustin cackles there.

Fear of Reactions

Season 5 had some problems but the finale especially the last scene was top tier. Good finale

Roland

Even though there were definitely some moments where I was looking for more from some of the characters, I think they did a good job focusing on the goal of finally figuring everything out about the upside down and defeating vecna. As for a final season I think it made sense to put most of the attention on finding ways to end everything which they have been going through the last several years and sure it could have been more intense and gripping, I still feel like they gave us the showdown we were looking forward to between El and Henry as well as everyone else. A couple more surprises which were unique and maybe added something more to the stakes would've definitely been nice, but with the way they rounded up all the characters it is easy to look past the fact we could tell a lot of what was coming. Still a fairly compelling season and and emotional send off to an even better show.
