Damn, I thought Greg would be out of town for the last episode. This is a very welcome surprise, I was totally down to wait until Greg came back to watch the episode, now I get to watch it now!!!!

As a big lover of the books, I absolutely enjoyed this season! Such a huge improvement from the first season, and Im so excited for season 3 Absolutely loved the reaction of this series!

i will say people do complain about the cut material but as someone who read the book it didnt add anything to the overarching story or charcters. plus this book was the shortest of the 5 books.

overall, they changed a lot of things to make it more show adaptable. when looking at show and movie adaptations I view them as an inspiration from the source material. plus, rick Riordan is involved in all the changes and stuff. I remember a comment he made saying he also makes the changes as a way to tell the same story but in a better way for tv adaptation. He wants the perfect blend of pleasing the fans but also tv producers (tv because a lot of things in the book would make the show feel dragged on like season one with all the extra conversations.)

Honestly ask most Percy Jackson book fans and they’ll tell you the second book is their least favorite (me included) it’s not BAD but the 3rd-5th books are great in my opinion. i think they already had a tall order adapting this book because of that and they changed/added a lot which made the story even better in my opinion when comparing. My favorite part of this book AND this season is the inclusion of tyson. He’s absolutely one of the best characters in the series. book 3 introduces some icons as well. Next season is now the first PJO book to be adapted that hasn’t been adapted to screen before. so it’s going to be new to us too in a way. It’s also MY personal favorite book of the series so I’m pumped for season 3 and I think they set up all the necessary plots for it. It also is the book where things start to get darker so i’m very curious how they’ll navigate the tone. anyways, yeah those are my thoughts. MUCH better than the film lol

EPIC! really strong finale I must say I really enjoyed it a lot this season truly has been a step up from the first by far but unlike you guys I still appreciated the first season but that being said season 2 definitely was just bigger, bolder, and better I honestly have no complaints other than short runtimes for the episodes which sometimes can mess with the pacing mostly these last two ep I felt they should have been longer but regardless I still really enjoyed the season love all the characters and cannot wait to see what season three will bring and based off that teaser I'm guessing some more #percabeth moments my babies they're so adorable ❤️😭

Greg, my Virgo brother it has been very helpful for me, who is writing a Greek Mythology script, watching your reactions with Tara. it confirms the pattern Hollywood has taken for decades that has isolated interest in Greek Mythology with the public. I would call myself the Coy of Greek Mythology 😆. So much went over both your heads in season 1 & 2 (this show is easter egg central) but you two missed alot and it really highlights a consistent problem Hollywood has with Greek Mythology. For some reason, executives have thought the only way the public would relate to Greek Mythology is through a Demi-God (half human - half God) - literally every GM movie ever is either through a Demigod or a human directly affected by the Gods but never the Gods themselves - or their parents the Titans or their parents the Primordials. There is SO much history that happens in GM before we ever get to DemiGods. The insane wars and endless VERY important storylines (especially involving Zeus and his purpose) that shape your understanding of this world. To put this in perspective, introducing the public to Greek mythology through the lens of a demigod is like imagine introducing someone to DC comics through the lens of Jonathan Kent. You know nothing about (Superman) you know nothing about a Justice League. You know nothing about their adventures they had years before he was even born. You just drop someone into DC comics through Jonathan Kent and have Superman pop in occasionally being slightly shady lol. That’s what it’s like every time they make these Greek mythology movies and TV shows to anyone who knows Greek mythology. 😆 But maybe that’s for me to tackle since I am writing a direct story of Zeus. I’m glad you are even doing this show, there needs to be more awareness - i think its pretty good for it being on G-rated Disney.
