Hi John and Greg, so glad you like HS. Think back to N+C in the train....the person on the right is the creator Alice Oseman. She designed the distinct look of both schools that you previously pointed out.

lmao Greg around 1:15, "I'm not homophobic, I just don't want to see it". That was literally my ex, and that was just the beginning with him. Safe to say I dodged a bullet with that one. Anyway, this was the most chaotic review section I've seen with you guys and it was hilarious, all over the place😂. Alice Oseman made a cameo on the train scene in the last episode of this season. They are the creator of the Heartstopper comics and also wrote the scripts to the show. They are an incredibly sweet human being❤️. About people thinking the show is not realistic about queer experiences, I have actually never heard that opinion before. I've only seen people praise it for showing queerness in a (mostly) positive and beautiful way, and I know it has helped so many people through their own journeys❤️. Thanks for sharing your reactions of season 1 with us, can't wait for you to continue. I adore season 1, but incredible as it is, the show gets even better as it goes. Take care!❤️

Hey all - I asked the question about Stephen Fry and cameos, but it seems the Fry part got a bit mixed up. Thank you Greg and John for reading the full ? at the end. I'm sure the ? (w/o the Fry bit) confused you all. And thank you for tackling such an important show!!!!

This was obviously too long for the Q&A, but thought I might share here, in case other patrons want to weigh in. G&J - Now you've finished season 1, you'll see the clear parallels between Heartstopper and Heated Rivalry. Jacob Tierney (HR creator) directly referenced HS, saying that joyful queer media existed for YAs, but he wanted to make the "grown-up" version. Fun fact: The two shows share many of the same beats; frantic stair race, healing mom hug, epic B-couple kiss and happy final in the sun. Not to take anything away from HR's genius, but I can't see a world with HR, without HS first breaking through. I know y'all watched these two backwards, but imagine it chronologically. I feel like Olivia Coleman healed the LGBTQ+ community with her hug, and then Jacob Tierney invited the straights to the "queer joy" party.

Stephen Fry has actually played Mycroft. 🤣 In the Guy Ritchie movies.
