Get those questions in before CUT-OFF

LUCA (Greg & Andrew) - 4pm PT

FRIENDLY REMINDER:

To keep our shoots on schedule, we’ll be answering up to 8 questions per video. If more than 8 come in, we’ll pick randomly from the pool. If time allows, we may take on extra, but that’s not guaranteed. Please limit it to one concise question per patron per shoot.

Greg! Andrew! I’m so excited for you to see this beautiful Pixar film! There are so many parallels in this one to The Little Mermaid. What are your thoughts on this? Any other parallels you see to other media?

Jaden Rhodes

Luca: Out the new era of Pixar I always found this to be a weaker Pixar movie. I’m curious out of the new era which ones is y’all’s least favourite or and favourite.

Theres been a lot of talk online about this story being an allegory for queerness. Examples: hiding the truth because of danger, the coming out scene where Luca threw alberto under the bus to save himself (which happens a lot in queer spaces) , and especially the line “some people will never accept him but some people will & he knows how to find the good ones” . A lot of queer people saw this movie and really identified with it while lots of other* people complained about people “making everything gay”. Did you notice any of these allegories to queerness or other things people feel ashamed about & how do you think this movie handles the message?

Question what Reject would be the best for Triathlon in the movie there.

Hey Guys! So is Luca just an animated version of Call Me By Yor Name and is it called Luca because Luca Guadagnino directed Call Me By Your Name. That's my theory anyways! Thanks Rejects!

Hi Greg and Andrew love you guys. I know I’m late for questions but I just wanted to say that I really liked this film I thought it was a sweet story about friendship and being brave. I know some people read a lot more into it than I do but maybe I’m just looking at it through too innocent a view. It doesn’t matter to me I enjoyed it. It was colorful and vibrant and fun. I hope you guys liked it too. Much love as always- Lisa

Luca was one of the films that I think would’ve done great had it been released in theaters (it was one of most streamed ones I believe though) with its direct to stream with the impact of COVID-19. But it still feels a bit underrated compared to some Pixar movies bc it feels to me a bit more intimate of story. Hope you guys enjoyed it!
