Great season! So you guys are watching Queen Charlotte next? While it is very good, I'm really looking forward to your reaction to seasons 3 and 4.

Jessi

Correct. You don't stop. Lol

This show introduced me to Jonathan Bailey, I found out he was in Wicked and finally watched those movies and now I absolutely adore him. I love watching interviews with him and the rest of the Bridgerton siblings a long with BTS videos. They really do act like they are a family playing games and pranks on each other. Fun Fact: When we meet him as Fiyero with his horse in Wicked, Jonny requested to have Jack, the black horse he rides in Bridgerton as Fiyero's horse.

Same on all counts. And Jack is a gorgeous steed indeed.

thanks for the three episode drop!!

Really appreciated your reactions, especially that you don't approach the complexity with black-and-white thinking. No one is perfect, and I agree: a human story is more compelling and more relatable. I was surprised to find myself tearing up again, especially in the last episode. I've seen this season many times, but watching again with people who pick up on the nuances brought them out and I felt them more. Not just the heavy hitters that always get me, but the smaller moments, too. I love the nuance in each character arc this season. - Edwina going from prim, proper, not wanting to get her dress dirty during pall mall, and choosing a man who *did in fact tell her* he cannot offer her love (at the poetry reading) and nonetheless pursued him again despite her sister's warnings he openly said he didn't want love, and whom she barely knew (she called Anthony even-tempered and Daphne laughed); to finally take off her rose colored glasses, accept the reality in front of her, and have the courage to choose the possibility of love rather than just its socially acceptable facade. Even with public embarrassment, and at the risk of social and financial ruin. We also got to see Edwina's not so sweet side, how she also inherited the exacting nature Kate has, but displayed it with an edge that would cut Kate out of her life - albeit shown at a moment of great pain. I love that it was Edwina's caring heart that saved the day (and the rest of their lives) when King George unexpectedly appeared in a fit of dementia, needing care, and reminding Edwina of her heart and what she wants for herself. Of course Edwina was right to be furious at Kate and Anthony, and yet when she gives her great speech in the church (which is the reminder to be courageous that they both needed), it is still an incomplete moment for Edwina because she does not yet acknowledge how blind she was. She was choosing to marry an idea, not a person. She did need time and space to process this, and luckily her sister was in a coma so she could do that. lol It's lovely that Edwina becomes the teacher to Kate, who also needed to learn to follow her heart, instead of putting others first. Seeing the Sharma sisters dance and laugh together at the last ball was so healing. When people say they hate what the show "did to Edwina's character," I don't think they're paying attention. When people say the show romanticizes cheating, again, they're not paying attention. None of the characters are relishing in hurting Edwina, everyone's trying to protect her. The story is about the importance of feeling your feelings, being honest with yourself, and having the courage to be true to yourself. The story is not "cheating is hot," otherwise they'd have a ton of sex scenes throughout. It's weird to me that people will also complain there aren't enough sex scenes between Kate and Anthony throughout the season. It would have to be a different story, and probably a repeat of season 1 - which it basically is in their book (a repeat of caught kissing [not cheating, Edwina's never a real option for Anthony in the book], and then forced marriage - but with weird shit like Anthony being abusive to Kate). I love Anthony and Kate's parallel arcs, and how they individually show courage and restraint at alternating times until their arcs finally intersect at the right time in the right way: when they're both showing courage and honoring their feelings. Only then can they be together. It's so good. Also love the theme of Kate being great with animals (horses, dogs, bees haha), including the beast Anthony (the quick montage of their first sex scene showed her standing over him, her hand grasping his jaw, with her thumb just inside his lower lip, and turning him toward her - wow). The little moment (in Ep 4?) when Edwina excitedly talks about progress with Anthony, Kate is calm but shocked, and it's Newton who whines - vocalizing Kate's distress. And the end, when Newton steals Kate's ball and the newlyweds both call after the dog, Kate uses a sweet voice while Anthony barks out an impatient yell. haha I love them so much.

You have to watch Queen Charlotte before S3. Just from order of release and IMO it’s the best Bridgerton story out of them all

The actor who played Simon had a contract for season 1 only. I saw a video that said he felt Simon's story was completed and that is why we don't see him in S2. I don't know if the showrunners have asked him back for other seasons. We'll have to wait and see. he wasn't hiding in the bushes or off making breakfast lol.
