AVATAR: Fire and Ash (2025) - WATCH ALONG!!

James Cameron remains the master of visual effects. The introduction of the Ash People and the volcanic regions of Pandora provided a fresh aesthetic contrast to the previous films. The film’s focus on the Sully family’s grief following the death of Neteyam provided some of the more grounded and moving sequences, particularly for Lo'ak, who's the film's narrator. HOWEVER, the story follows the beats of its predecessors almost exactly—kidnappings, escapes, and a final large-scale battle—leading to a sense of been-there-done-that fatigue. At roughly 194 minutes, the film is just exhausting and dull in its middle act, weighed down by excessive subplots and secondary characters.
