I will never understand why they kept doing 10 year time jumps with these films. They got within 10 years of the first X-Men while everyone still looked like their First Class characters instead of like their X-Men characters. It was a very stupid idea. They shouldn't have gone past the early 70's and they really didn't need Cyclops, Jean, Storm, etc... There's so many other characters they could have focused on instead and kept the timeline from becoming such a mess.

This movie had so much potential to turn out this badly. Apocalypse was badly rendered- Oscar Isaacs did his best, but they gave him little to work with. Havok was in the movie three seconds before they murked him. Pity- they could have used him in the final battle. Funny how little they grieved for one of the original X-Men, even in the epilogue. No monument, no grave scene, nothing. Magneto losing his family- powerful scene. The collective pissing of pants by the Polish cops when they realized they'd killed his wife and daughter was well played. I liked the chemistry between Tye Sheridan and Sophie Turner- they did the Scott and Jean burgeoning romance fairly well. I agree with you that after Quicksilver evacuated the mansion, the movie went downhill fast. It should have been great seeing them learn their powers, but the final showdown between the X-Men and Apocalpyse and his Four Horsemen was meh at best. The X3 final battle was better. While it was good to see the First Class X-Men back in action, it fell flat. I still think this is better than Origins: Wolverine, but it could have been so much better. Logan, Dark Phoenix and New Mutants to close out the Fox X-movies. They tried their best to connect those last two to the rest. It was an attempt.

Once again, Fassbender's performances shine, more so in the first half of the film. Whatever happened in the second half was rough, and those suits at the end?? If this era of the X-Men appear in Doomsday or Secret Wars, we need those comic accurate suits back..

X-Men: Apocalypse is a middle-of-the-road entry in the long-running franchise that struggles under the weight of its own ambition. The titular villain, Apocalypse (played by a buried-in-prosthetics Oscar Isaac), lacks the depth of previous antagonists, and the film's reliance on familiar mutant struggle tropes and CGI-heavy destruction makes the story feel somewhat redundant. Despite these flaws, it serves as a functional conclusion to the First Class trilogy, offering a thinking person's action movie that successfully introduces a new generation of iconic characters like Jean Grey and Cyclops.

All of the major issues y’all have I just don’t see, this movie is not nearly as bad if you don’t know the comics.
