Yay! I’ve been checking my notificationa since yesterday for this reaction! Edit: Come on guys, enough jokes about Simon already, the actor chose not to come back after his season, that's all. I have been waiting for S3 because I know how much you guys, especially Greg, love Penelope and I get that there were cheesy moments, the actors themselves weren't very pleased with some of the reshoots for the season, but I was disappointed by how much you were mocking and laughing during so much of this reaction.

Francesca was in the background of a couple of episodes in both seasons 1 and 2 but was played by a different actress. They replaced her in season 3 because the original actress was cast in a different Netflix show.

I'm just rolling in and getting caught up after running across your Bridgerton reactions. Thank you for sharing your experiences with this show. Its a great show and I appreciate how open you are to the experience and how openly you express your emotions and thoughts. Pen is one of my top characters and it is touching how much you guys have always had a lot of care for her character. Season 4 is my favorite though, so excited to get to it! I'm also catching your Supernatural watch in between Bridgerton drops. So fun. Thanks!!

I still believe Cressida is the one that spread the rumor. I’ll explain why. Eloise was already angry at Cressida for the dress rip. Cressida knew she’d lose Eloise if she pulled more crap like that. Watch the scene again where Cressida exclaims for all to clearly know she has no gossip and she looks at her friend who is giving her a sly smile, and then Cressida immediately leaves. It cuts to her friend looking at the others and smiles and they gather around the friend for the gossip. To me it’s obvious that she told the friend and then she spread the gossip. Cressida put on a good show (or alibi) to keep her name in the clear. Cressida is still awful!

Aww. I don't mind the Simon jokes. They make me chuckle. And I kind of like the idea of him just being off to the side a bit. lol. Makes the Duke and Dutches feel a little bit closer still. I do feel bad for Phoebe Dynevor, I know she would have kept on if Regé-Jean Page had been willing. But they really could only go on with the "I left my child and husband at home" bit for so long before it gets weird. Its been a few years, perhaps they could recast him at this point without it being too weird.

Cressida is still awful but she didn’t share it. When Eloise is telling Cressida you can see the other girl in the background close by paying attention.

Just had time to watch these full eps. I love season 3. I just love the development of the connection between Colin & Pen over the series leading to this gorgeous season. I think these first two are great, although it frustrates me how so many miss the obvious act Colin is putting on pretending to be a rake. I wish the reshoots hadn’t happened in a way as they emphasise this misconception. I wish they’d shown us an insight into Colin’s struggles differently, maybe a chat with Benedict, or something else that made the same point. As for the kiss, I love it. It’s probably my favourite scene in the whole show.

@Mel I saw in an interview that they don't want to recast Rege-Jean Page, something about if it's a different actor, it will take away from season 1 and won't feel like their story, if that makes sense

Yes, laughing about where Simon is and joking about vampire hunters is funny. It's my own fault, I was really excited to see their reaction to a couple of sweet and tender moments with Penelope, but the guys missed the moments because they were laughing

I agree about the reshoots. Even Luke Newton questioned them and how creepy it looked when he winked at the group of ladies. I'm also not sure why they switched Colin and Benedict's seasons when Benedict's book is third and Colin's book is fourth.

That was said at the time to be not to drag out Colin & Pen another year who they felt were ready and I think they also another year of people not finding out she was LW was also a stretch. I’d have been fine with either order & arguably think Benedict was better set up in s2, but it doesn’t excuse the abuse certain fans directly at s3 and it’s actors for the change, which was and continues to be dreadful.

I saw that. They put her close enough to make it seem possible, but the looks between them when Cressida says she has no gossip is too obvious. Cressida left on purpose so she can tell everyone and appear that she didn’t partake in the gossip. This is not a rare Cressida choosing the high road moment.

I can see that point of view. They are in a kind of loose loose situation. They have people crying and yelling because they won't recast and they have people who would cry and yell if they did recast. I understand Rege-Jean for wanting to move on instead of sticking around and be a minor character. But at the same time Johnathan Bailey was shooting Bridgerton after his season at the same time he was doing Wicked and Fellow Travelers - so also its a bit weak as an excuse. lol. Though JB is quite extraordinary, so may not be a fair comparison.

i read they switched seasons due to viewership. as good as season 2 was it was the lowest. they knew Colin & Pen was so loved it would do great, which it did. If i remember it broke records on Netflix which green lit season 4,5,6....... Season 3 is my favortie and i hate they changed show runners because you can definitely tell. Season 1 & 2 were so much better story telling wise. Season 3 had so many side stories it took away from Pen & Colin.

@Mel I absolutely agree about JB. I adore him so much! He said in an interview that coming back to Bridgerton is like coming home and that for the rest of his life, he will always be an older brother to all his Bridgerton siblings.

The switch was already decided when they were filming s2 as the actors knew during most of that filming they were next, so viewership of s2 had nothing to do with the switch choice. S3 did indeed have the highest first weekend viewing numbers if the show & increased viewership from s2. Following s3 they renewed for seasons 5 & 6 (it was renewed for 3 & 4 together). I don’t know what I think about showrunners as I love s3 and they all had side plots in them and personally I can’t bear the choice of a sister proposal under the old showrunner, so can’t say he’d have been better. S3 is my favourite anyway.
