Hey Patreon family! Tonight, Andrew and Paige are packing up their things and moving into the claustrophobic, high-rise urban nightmare of Evil Dead Rise. Are they hiding under the covers every time Lee Cronin turns up the volume on the absolute auditory assault of that opening title card, or are they leaning forward in pure, geeky joy at how this installment trading the woods for an apartment complex keeps the franchise's blood-soaked soul intact?

There’s already been some genuinely loud screaming, a healthy dose of dark humor to survive the sheer emotional cruelty of a Deadite mom, and an intense debate over whether the infamous cheese grater sequence or the final, roaring wood-chipper flesh-amalgamation climax is the most delightfully unhinged piece of physical gore put to screen. Stay tuned, because the full, unfiltered podcast breakdown is dropping this Friday—mommy loves you to death, and you won't want to miss our thoughts on this relentless horror ride!

EVIL DEAD RISE WATCHALONG !!

I've always wondered, what happens after these movies? How do you explain to the police what happened? Ash went to that cabin with a bunch of friends, he was the only one who left alive. The police are going to blame him. Same for Evil Dead 2013. Drug addict goes to a cabin with her friends and family, she's the only one who comes back alive. She's 100% getting prosecuted for murder. This movie, the sister and the little girl live, the elevator is full of blood, there's multiple bodies in the hallway, blood all over the apartment, and her sister, niece, and nephew were put through the wood chipper. How do you explain that? She at least has a witness (her youngest niece), but is that enough to convince police that you didn't murder your family and their neighbors? I just can't see any of these movies having any sort of happy ending when all is said and done.

I feel like there's some irony in there with the Directors name Lee "Cronin" his last name randomly makes me think of Cronenberg and his body horror creations JUST like the monstrosity at the end there so I almost wonder if that was a little homage in there for him because of name similarities lol Also I adore the actor that plays Danny he is fantastic in One Piece live action as Koby ❤️

I really appreciate the references to other Evil Dead movies and other horror movies in this. The elevator attack is a ref to the Tree attacks in the movies. There's Henrietta's Pizza (ED2) Mr Fonda who also owned the Woodchipper is a reference to Bridge Fonda in Army of Darkness. The bathroom in the apartment was a reference to the room 247 bathroom in The Shining as well as the elevator with blood. Just to name a few!
