LOVE you guys watch this whole franchise because its a fun ride. Im a fan of the game that Loves this series the good and bad... This was hated by the public because it wasnt direct game to movie. Also at that time game movies were criticised especially horror ones. It follows lore and characters but not the main story. I think it gained a cult following. Its a story in the world of resident evil. They did do a few direct first game transfer.

I'm loving having the Original Shejects-- the Oh-Geejects? Oh-Shejects? 🤔 Anyway, I love having yall back Tara and Roxy! As for Roxy's question at 1:42:26, My request for a movie would normally be "The Strangers", BUT since Tara already covered that with Aaron, might I request "When A Stranger Calls"? It has two classic movies, plus a remake. Could be fun to see the Shejects' opinions on a more basic approach to horror. For some more standalone ideas: "He's Out There" is an interesting on. "Exists" is a favorite of mine and was made by the same team as the "Blair Witch Project" which could also be its own idea. But also one that gets me a lot is "Antlers". Hope those help!

FYI There are 2 or 3 animated Resident Evils that follow the first couple of games. Also, the original DVD has a commentary track with Mila and Micheal watching the movies, thier chemistry is amazing and funny.

From the POV today, I feel like most people think the first is a decent guilty pleasure and 2 and 3 are less liked but still enjoyable enough. It's after that it quickly goes to the similar levels as nightmare on elm street 4, 5, and 6. They all pretty much are as convoluted as the resident evil lore, but never reaches anywhere near that level of quality. It's basically just an action vehicle for Milla Jovovich from her now husband Paul WS Anderson. I feel like most resident evil fans would absolutely not like them as much and think Paul WS Anderson is a hack who ruined the adaptations by revolving the entire story around Milla for some strange reason. By the time you get more and more of the actual RE characters, they're basically just there in name only

This was a fun, guilty pleasure franchise for me. I think my favorites were the first and third movies, but all of them were pretty enjoyable once I cast aside any hopes about the series being anything but popcorn fun. I played SOME of the original games, but never got through most of them because they weren't my style of game, but I appreciate what they brought to the table in terms of the gaming zeitgeist. In terms of movies, this series didn't bring much except some guilty pleasure flicks and a ton of Milla Jovovich lol. Sometimes I wonder, after stuff like Dazed and Confused and the Fifth Element, if Milla had taken a different path and not married the director, where her career would have gone. Without spoilers, I think my biggest issue with the series is that while each movie occurs in the same universe, each new movie is somehow "reset" a bit as a fresh start. While there is definite continuity, and it's not that they specifically retcon the previous movies.... many times you'll see that developments from prior movies are brushed aside or explained away, and on top of that the aesthetics/world building is inconsistent (is it a cyberpunk corpo thriller? a nighttime small town horror movie? a mad max style apocalypse? it changes each time). Still, I have the box set, and will happily turn my brain off for these. I hope we get reactions for the full series, because I'm very much looking forward to it. And I'll be leaving for vacation for several weeks soon, and one of my favorite things is coming back to binge the reactions that were released while I was gone!! Excited for that. Also, I'm with Tara. I feel for the dogs. When you work for a sh*tty / shady company, even if you don't *know* it's shitty, you still "know" it is. Not sure how to explain it, but you just know. Nothing about Umbrella screams "this is a benevolent corporation". Poor doggos don't have a choice.

Resident Evil franchise? Damn, I'm so excited.

He's Out There is so good! The only home invasion film that comes close to The Strangers for me.

I want to request the OG Shejects watch the Hell House LLC franchise! I've wanted to request this for about a year, but this franchise is a bit more obscure outside of the horror community, so I'm not sure how well it would do, but if the Wrong Turn franchise did well, I don't doubt this one will. The first film is in my top 3 found footage films, and I don't think the Horror Queens have done found footage together yet.

Haven't seen any of them other than the OG when it was released. Purchased an apple tv bundle a few weeks ago, so why the hell not--lets watch em with you
