Or... not.... their ending was very different than mine and their reaction didn't match what was on their screen which means the version they were reacting to was the theatrical and the one they're using in the edit for time keeping was the Unrated? I'm so confused.

I couldn't remember which was which, but now that I've just watched the first one again, I agree, the 2nd one is the better one. Apparently they made a 3rd which I just noticed when searching for this one. It must have been a cheap straight to DVD sequel or something because I didn't even know it existed.
