Hey Reject Nation! Below is our current month's password for the Website. This will change every month!

As you all remember from our VImeo debacle (SEE HERE), we moved everything we could save to our website so if you can't find a video here on Patreon AND we were able to find it in the archive you can find it on the Website.

Judging by the Evil Dead Burn full watchalong I’m not sure I like this update. I like to see the entire screen of the movie but the oval cuts off a lot of it. Syncing up is not always the best but once you get it synced you get to see the full screen. I understand this may help on the Rejects end, but for me I’m not the biggest fan of this. Just wanted to voice a differing opinion during this transition.

Ok yeah, just checked the Evil Dead link. I know a lot of people complained about not getting the full watch along, but this is not it for me. I'm not squinting at an oval on a YouTube video when I've got a 60" tv I could be watching on. I don't think this was the right move.

This is fine and perfect! Seeing people complaining about the oval screen I was expecting it to be super tiny or something but it's actually pretty well sized. I mostly listen to your reactions since I'm at work (and watch again for the highlight moments or if I especially like it) so I'm grateful that now I have the sound of the movie as well as reference, having the whole movie footage is well is like a bonus. I get that your reactions aren't supposed to be a market substitute for us actually paying to watch the movie so this is already a generous improvement from before!

Go check out Cinebinge and see how they do it. They do the full unedited, film on the screen version, a "you need your own copy" version, and an edited short YouTube video reaction. All 3 are attached to each video, you just click whichever link you want. I don't think a lot of people will like being stuck with only your audio and a half screen. They want to watch the full screen movie with their own audio with the ability to change volume on the reaction and the film separately.

Not sure about this, but will try it out. I personally like syncing my own copy up on my second monitor. Which I'll still try to do, may be more difficult without a timecode. Also, won't you guys get hit by copyright since you're including the full source of media within your videos full watch-alongs now? Edit: I see how it works on the Evil Dead video, and I might be able to make it work. I'd imagine as soon as the Reel Rejects logo intro ends, I click play, and then there's the deciding factor of whether I sync it exact so both the audio from the watchalong and my own audio overlap or if I mute my audio. I'll see how it works for your other videos, HotD & GotG Vol 2 etc. Edit 2: It is not it. Sorry guys.

The issue for me is I purchase/rent/stream the movies so the studio gets the money and I sync that with the Rejects and watch with them. This new way for the watchalong means I don’t get the full immersion of the movie or I get double audio when syncing. I love all the Rejects and I will give them time to get things worked out or adjust but I do not like this new way at all

Same. If they gave the full watchalong and a sync copy too I think that’d solve the issue as another said. But not a fan of the oval.

For your double audio issue it's an easy solve: just mute your movie audio since you're already getting that audio from the reaction. That's how I do my watchalongs. I have the movie playing on my TV and then the reaction on my tablet/laptop and sync them up.

I just want to express my agreement with a couple of other people. I love the new idea of having the movie included in the video instead of needing our own copy, but I would prefer to see the full picture rather than a strange, cropped oval.

The full watchalongs worked perfectly for me before. I use the pop-out player in chrome for the Rejects over top of my own copy playing full screen. It's worse now because I have to mute my own audio and can't really control anything. Youtube links let me stream it through Potplayer for even for more adjustments if needed. Still can't wait to watch the new Evil Dead here tonight

It’s cool that you're trying to improve, but honestly, this new format is frustrating. Clicking a link without syncing sounds easy, but it brings issues. First, entering a password every time is annoying. Second, as others mentioned, watching the movie in a small oval while your reaction takes up most of the screen is a bad viewing experience. Before, we could adjust the screen size and volume as we wanted. Third, as someone from the Czech Republic who is still learning English, I really miss subtitles. On Patreon, I could use auto-translate for your video and watch the movie with my own subtitles or dubbing. Now, I can't even get English captions, and AI browser extensions don't work well. So while this is a great simplification for some, for people like me, it’s the exact opposite...

I feel it's an unnecessary step to something that was already working for most people. I get wanting the whole unedited/blurred footage, but I think this is a bad move if it's the only way they're doing it. I also haven't even mentioned how I feel them showing the whole movie could create more issues later with the studios, but maybe I dont understand the legal stuff enough.

I am going to agree with several people, I dislike this format for two reasons. 1. I cannot see the full video/picture. You may be cutting off important. (Other reactors do have full "square" images). I guess this is copyright related. I would rather sync my own copy on the TV and reaction on the PC (Yes, everything is the same room so that makes it easier.) 2. This is probably just a me problem. I prefer to download the videos so I can watch without my internet failing and losing my place (although this is more of an issue when syncing). Also, in the case of a series of films/TV series, I tend to wait until all have been released and watch them all in one go and it makes it easier if I have them D/L'd and in a playlist (in PowerDVD). I have several thousand reactions (from everybody at the moment) so it saves trying to find them online (and to remember what I've missed). Again, really a me problem. Thanks Jon

HMMM, to be completely honest with you, right now this seems like a massive headache. I'm willing to give this a shot, OF COURSE FOR YOU GUYS, but I fear if problems continue to persist, you will lose a LOT of support. Saying this out of genuine concern. // Perhaps there is another system or software you could use instead of Wix that WILL embed the link? I don't know, not as tech savvy as I should be. // SIDE NOTE: The Resident Evil watchalong appears to be dead as well, not sure if this was the case yesterday.

I slightly agree. If they're using Vimeo (like Mr.Video) they dont need to crop. He shows the whole screen with no water marks, edits or cropping and so i would have them look into that instead of the sync up or cropping watchalongs

I don't like this change because I adjust the audio mix with my own copy. I also do not prefer to watch a film in the oval because it does not show the whole picture. I've been a supporter for a few years now and will continue to do so. I just wanted to share my thoughts

This is not it. I can't see the full screen and id rather mix my own audio. I'd rather see the movie on a separate screen so I can experience it too. I'm afraid this will turn many people away and push long time subscribers to leave.

After checking out the Evil Dead Burn watchalong link, I have to agree with some of the other people here, I prefer having the my own copy (streaming) to sync with, but only because I can get it up on my own 65” TV and being able to adjust audio between film and commentary separately. I do see the pros though, it will eliminate the sync issue where the reaction video either runs faster or slower than my own copy (streaming) and I technically don’t need to pay for streaming services, which is great for people on a budget. I’ll have to see if there is an easy way to get your website stream onto my TV and then maybe it would be okay.

Frankly, I don't mind having to find my own copy and sync it up because I like to watch the full movie on my fire stick/tv while I stream the reaction video/audio on my phone. Is there anyway of having two options? One with just the reaction, which requires your own copy to sync, and one with the reaction and the movie in the oval?

Thanks! This is great news. I only have one monitor so I just play your reactions on my phone and watch the movie on the monitor so this is a huge improvement.

Mr. Video has become one of my favorite reactors not only for how he does his polls but also posts the reaction as a full watch along with the movie in full screen with his little reaction bubble in the lower corner. I can get behind this new method if you could do it similar to how he does his and with the movie audio slightly higher than the reactors. Just to ensure everything is heard appropriately.

OK, quick update from my previous comment --- tried this late last night with Evil Dead Burn and it worked, at least for me; BEAUTIFUL. The only thing is I'll have to remember to bookmark both the Patreon post and then the watchalong link to the the same content under it now (not that big of a deal). As I said when I first joined, Greg and everyone, keep climbing Everest and win.

No. I'd rather sync up with my own copy on my nice big tv screen than have to squint at half a movie in an oval on my laptop. I love you guys' reactions, but not if I can't see them. This to me is a prime example of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Maybe if I watch this on my phone and then cast it to my tv. I was going to try this new method with GOTG2, but it's not up yet. you can still sync easy without the timecode. i still did it with evil dead burn. dont change what ur doing. only other dif is no more blur on the reaction video

you never used the full screen anyways. u always had ur copy. so dont change anything. u dont need a time code to sync. just find your spot and match it. its not always perfect with timecode anyways.

Hey rejects, Honestly I'm on board for this with trying to improve and evolve on your end but with new ways/systems there will be pro's and con's. I will stick with you guys and given enough time I'm sure you guys will make it the best it can be. Not true. The way I did it I could see the full screen of the movie as well as the rejects. If this change works for you that’s great, but I feel we’re losing some control all around. I also don’t quite agree with them showing the full movie as it feels a bit like piracy.

I remember when Greg and John were wearing one ear of their busted headphones to hear each other, (was so excited when they got the mic’d headphones!), syncing up on Vimeo, and it was so cool seeing the massive improvements to the studios, and the ever improving website and patreon. Always excited for y’all to get up and up Obv people are going to find something to complain about but a lot of us are super exited for y’all! Hoping to see Dexter continue in this new format 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Wouldn't be a problem if the audio quality wasn't awful, at least on the latest HotD episode, there's no bass - all treble and you can't adjust the audio balance between the commentary & the episode audio - there's also an issue where it's all treble, it seems to be peaking at certain points which hurts my ears when wearing headphones and I can't turn it down because the commentary audio is already quiet, so it's reliant on the editors getting it just right, which everyone at the moment is talking about audio issues. For what it's worth, it just makes far more sense to go back to how it was before. It seemed really simple.

I see a lot of comments with my issue. I like to watch my own copy and the sound clashes. I too don’t like the oval window. Also watching into the spider verse with the breaks and going back a few minutes meant trying to match up with my version again. It’s a real shame because I am loving the watch alongs and I fear it’s going to mess up my enjoyment. I’ve been enjoying this spider-man rewatches along with the infinity saga.

I understand you wanting/needing to try a new method. I’m fine using something other than YouTube as others reactors do. But my preference is to watch on my TV using that audio. And if we can no longer get watchalongs as we have been, then the oval needs to just be the full screen as we are missing chunks of screen which may not always be “important “ (it is to me as a former projectionist) but sometimes it is cutting off necessary details.

I have an idea but no idea if it's possible with your setups. (OK, I nicked it from another Patreon member I follow. They do use PIP rather than sync). They have multiple audio streams all within the same reaction. 1. Audio of creator and film/tv 2. Audio of film/tv only. 3. Audio of creator only. This was you can select whichever one you need so in theory we could select option3 and sync up with our copies. No idea how this is done mind you, but I'm you have technical expertise to do it somewhere in the RR offices!

Figured that might be the case. I wasn't sure if the player offers the ability to change audio or not. The other creator upload their videos to dropbox and mega.nz and the audio streams are built in.

yikes. not to be too negative but this new format is borderline unwatchable. might as well just watch the edited youtube version at at this point. for all of the issues, you tube seems to be the best, OR there's another reactor who does something decently but i think the size of the window for the show or movie is a little too small. Omn1Media's patreon full lengths are okay, but like i said the window is a little small for my taste.

There is absolutely no way you will able to post the full movie or episode even if you have edited it into an oval? you will still be copywrite struck when the production companies find your website? you are still uploading the full movie/episode to the internet even tho its not youtube.

Many complaints about this change are ignoring that there is an inconvenience inherent in having to use two electronic devices simultaneously. They ignore this because they are used to using two devices because they have been required to. On the other hand, users who find the old method close to useless do not watch many reactions on patreon at all and are not primed to comment immediately. From the perspective of those who will use the new method that had no inclination to bother with the previous method this is not a change, it is a brand new thing. It is almost inevitable that the first wave of comments will be negative because people who find using two devices useless have not been watching reactions on patreon. They are not users. This dynamic comes up in most areas of public policy--changes designed to expand use tend to be opposed by current users. Not always, but usually. The hypothetical new users don't exist yet to have an opinion. In this case the stated purpose is to counter an excessive number of YouTube videos being taken down so it is natural that the method they try will be videos similar to youtube.

I also want to express my disappointment with the new format. I have my own TV with good speakers, etc that I want to hear the movie / show audio on... Not this half-volume distracting format. I just want the commentary in a separate tab that I can hear while watching along.

Yeah, I’m not happy with the way new things are going. I don’t think I’ll be renewing my membership any more. It’s too much of a hassle to try and sync everything up plus a lot of Venmo videos don’t allow you to fullscreen.

Personally, I really love the new format. I mostly watch y’all react to things I’ve already seen, and I often watch while I’m working, so being able to pause without having to re-sync everything is a huge improvement for me. I wonder if there’s a possible compromise: keep the Patreon/YouTube version blurred and without the audio track, but host an unblurred version with audio on the website. I realize maintaining two versions might be more work than it’s worth, especially based on the general consensus in the comments. But I’d really love if there were some way to keep this format available.

I really don't like this. I've got two monitors, I always play my own copy on one and your reactions on the other. I want to see the film/series full screen. And the audio is way too quiet and I always readjust on my own. Plus I'm not sure of the legality? I, as an individual, can pirate my media and no one will know a thing - but you guys re-uploading could get you in trouble. Seems like a bad idea all around. If this continues I'm not going to pay for this service anymore.

I resent the statement that I'm not - or haven't been - a user. This is inventively dismissive of paying users and fanbase members who have valid issues with this change. No matter if the change is designed to be expansive - it's illegal and could have tangible consequences for the entire crew. It's also vastly annoying and deceitful to retract a benefit from paying patrons who were promised a sync-up copy. The person running this account should be ashamed of interacting in a positive way with such a pretentious and offensive reply.

I love the idea of not having to sync, especially since I'm in Canada, and I don't always have access to a copy of what you're watching, so I hope you keep it this way. However, I get that a lot of people prefer to watch with their own copy, so my suggestion would be to do what Cinebinge does and offer both. A copy where you have to sync, and a no-sync or unedited version.

Okay. I'm sorry, but the volume of show is super low on the watch along for TBBT. I joined Reel Rejects Patreon mainly for this particular show. I'm sure you realize the issue for some of us with the volume and I imagine you do your best to make things as well as possible, but... Damn! Go figure... I bet it's just me.... How do I keep videos from freezing? Am I the only one who has this issue? I’ve tried opening in different browsers. Nothing seems to work. I don’t think I’ve had one video that does not freeze and I have to back all the way out and refresh everything to get it to work again. It does this on old and new ones.

It’s me! Haha. There’s an intro video of me and Greg on here from when I first came on. But basically, I work with the Rejects by running the Patreon and running their audio feeds. When you talk to someone on here…it be me. I was then brought on to continue to develop what was started with the website (mostly the grunt work 😆). I produce for Kristian Harloff as well (you can see me popping up during his live shows most days) and run his patreon and audio as well. I’m late to this and was about to do the gotg2 watch along when I noticed the change. Gotta say I’m not liking this. I usually have to watch y’all on my phone while having the to on and this does not work well on mobile. Gonna have to unsubscribe for now. Sorry. Adhd dump here so forgive the mess 😅 for this new system, I understand the pros for making the watchalongs the way they are and I also get for someone who got so used to syncing copies that it might take a while to transition to this new system and don't get me wrong syncing up could be a hassle HOWEVER I also think syncing up had its own perks/pros that cannot be retained even after getting used to the new system . For me specifically I like control of how big the movie window is compared to to the reaction window, same with audio. I feel syncing up gave way more freedom. So my thought is, why not both? I feel like this keeps all parties happy. I've seen a lot of people with my opinion and lots without it so it makes most sense. Second thing is I think the gang would love Horrible Bosses 1/2 and another more recent Jason Bateman comedy where Rachel Mcadams kills it, Game Night. This film blew me away with how original it was, I think without spoilers Andrew/John in particular would like this one. As for horrible bosses, the trio of actors is unbeatable and they are simply hysterical! Thanks for reading this far if you did and I really hope the watchalong idea is taken into consideration :D

Make sure it is case sensitive...and make sure you are entering the September Site Password. The Site Password changes monthly, the MORE one doesn't (until I can get rid of that one)
