i feel like you two were being nicer to the finale than you wanted to be in your review at the end lol. My rambling thoughts about the season / season finale below. Sheesh. I felt none of the emotion or impact of anything in the X-Men 97 finale, I think because we went from A to C but skipped B This was a season with a beginning and end, but no meaningful middle. We just get to the last two episodes suddenly. Most of the characters don’t even do anything that mattered. A majority of them are also nerfed into the ground for the sake of plot, or barely use their powers And most of the fight scenes were basically just fights for the sake of having fight scenes with no real purpose or impact (mostly) Not a great finale, Not a good finale. Just a very mid finale. I don’t want to call it bad though. It’s weird… Very empty though? No weight to it. Just flashy The episode just sort of abruptly ends in a weird way too. Just like…wth? No talks or conversations or anything of the sort after everything that happens All of the apocalypse stuff sort of went nowhere tbh.

Like Coy made blunder its not Reed Richards its Flatman of The Great Lake Avengers you can tell by the large F on the chest used. Note this was running pun in the comics people kept make this big mistake there.

It’s kinda crazy because even going back to season 1 I felt like Val was Mystique 😂 but now they’re truly deploying it S2 overall, still pretty good. Not as great as S1

Was season two as great as season 1? No. But still great idk what people expected… beau got fired right before season 1 so of course while he wrote and they were in development of season 2 it would still change. This is no different than born again season 1 but still handled better. We got a very emotional introduction to cable with great music and a great story involving apocalypse, kang, celestials. I loved it! Than to have the middle be some fun side adventures with a still looming threat of apocalypse was so fun and kept awaiting what was next. The nightcrawler exodus fight was badass, the emotion this season hit harder than the action which i LOVED. And it gave more time for xavier to SHINE. All in all i still loved it, its music, its message, the voice it carries. Now am i worried going forward given they have no more written material for beau? Sure but hey nothing has led me astray so far.

Update on Mystique file it show Magneto, Toad, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Blob, Mastermind,, Namor, and Sabertooth. Yes Namor now canon. Also its Artie not Leech Screencrush mistake there. Like first official Tempest appearance with it confirmed Val Cooper is killed off.
