AWESOMEJoe Movie Reviews

Halloween Resurrection: Hello Jackie and Jon, this movie had an interesting idea for a story but not for a Michael Myers, Halloween movie; if anything this kind of story seems to be more better with another horror genre like Jason (Friday 13th) or Leatherface (TCM). Do you agree with this? Also I did enjoy the mask in this one though, much scarier and close to the original. There was an alternate scene when Decker actually came to the rescue in the flaming garage instead of Busta Rhymes, would you have considered the original choice or the alternate? Thanks y'all, keep on living the dream and as always STAY AWESOME 😎👍👍 and HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Halloween Resurrection: Trick or Treat MotherXXXXer!! A movie that makes one of the worst decisions to open in the franchise, BUT damn this movie is still entertaining. Busta Rhymes one liners are just hilarious. DANGERTAINMENT! My question is to this point what Halloween movie has pissed you off the most? Also thank you to Jackie for showing appreciation to my last name.

Halloween Resurrection: Hi Jackie and Jon: This was the first Halloween I saw in theaters after only having seen Curse. I hated it first time but after Youtube became a stample in my life its grown on me. Do you feel seeing it now through the lens of our web obsessed content culture does it land for you or does this lens make it even more cringe?

Halloween Resurrection: Hi Jackie and Jon, so sorry you were put through this (unless you had fun, then happy for you). Most Halloween fans like to pretend this movie doesn't exist, aside from the immortal line "Trick or Treat, motherfucker!" Now that you've made it here, which set of sequels to the original 1978 movie do you prefer? Halloween Resurrection - Trivia: I don't really have anything more to add for this movie, just wanted to say I've had fun watching the two of you go through this journey. Because you keep mentioning your love for Halloween III, I wanted to mention that there is an anthology movie that John Carpenter did called "Body Bags". Also, I think the two of you would have fun going through Carpenter's filmography for the channel (it's not all horror despite his reputation and Twitter handle - @TheHorrorMaster).

Halloween Resurrection question 1: A sequel to Halloween H20 was already planned out since the production of H20. The producer told Jamie Lee that contractually Michael Myers couldn't be killed off whatsoever BUT they could shoot the film to make it seem like he does. In preparation to explain his inevitable comeback they quickly shot part of the "flashback" where Michael (as a paramedic) sees the ambulance van drive off towards the crime scene. The rest of this dumb retcon was shot during this film. Jamie Lee was under contract to return one more time but she hated even the mere existence of a sequel to H20, so she asked her character to be killed off. Also originally, there was a line of cut dialogue in the beginning of the film where Laurie Strode says to Michael "You will never find my son." This could've potentially exolore John's revenge on Michael in the next sequel but unfortunate it never happened with instead Michael "retiring" on this film. How would've yall explained Michael's return & how would've yall changed the film overall compared to what we have?

Halloween Resurrection: You get a DM on Instagram. It’s from a studio exec. Seems shady. But you ask around. They’re legit. You freak out. Gasps are gasped. Gulps are gulped. You calm down and read the message. They want you to take charge of Halloween. Total carte blanche. What’s your plan for the franchise?

Halloween Resurrection question 2: This film was heavily recut, rewritten, & even edited AFTER it's theatrical run. There's multiple alternate character scenes, different deaths & deleted scenes with one Rough Cut actually running at 105 min (instead of the final 90 min) which consists of over 35 min of alternate footage. There's 3 different endings. 1. Where Deckard is the one who saves Sara from the fire, they later introduce each other formally when the ambulance arrives, & Michael is left for dead. 2. Another ending where Freddie is talking to a "dead" Michael in a body bag. Micheal's eyes pop open, and he grabs Freddie's throat. Sarah grabs an ax from the fire truck, and slams it down on Michael's face. And the 3rd has an CSI agent looking for the body of Michael Myers after the fire. She looks into a manhole, and Micheal pops up, & grabs her. Other deleted scenes are Michael stealing a car right after killing Laurie, Tyra Banks death, Freddie & Sara actually making it outside of the Myers house before getting attacked, Freddie wasn't doing"Kung fu" & much more. Do y'all think the final film shows its heavy tampering?

Halloween Resurrection question 3. This is the final film in this timeline, & as y'all can see all timelines start pretty solid (H4, H20, 2018) but then end pretty bizarre or rough (H6, Resurrection, Ends ). Also both Jamie Lloyd & Laurie Strode died in their final film of their timeline. Do y'all think this odd trend will continue with the 2007 Rob Zombie remake? Which timeline y'all prefer overall & what was the best & worst sequel on each? Maybe a full ranking?

Halloween Resurrection question 4 (if time): The original opening scene (available on YT) featured a home video in 1963 (right before the intro of Halloween 1) of the Myers family (the parents, Judith, Michael & a baby Laurie) having a cookout in the back yard of their house. Judith is playing & having fun with baby Laurie while Michael can be seen in the clips trying to divert the camera away from him as he does not want to be filmed. However, the father manages to get him to face the camera and Michael gives him the " blackest, devil's eyes" . Do y'all think this should've been kept & can y'all see it on your own time?

Halloween Resurrection Trivia 1: This film essentially "retired" Michael after killing Laurie (before people broke into his house) & its shown that Michael hid under the sewer tunnels for over 20 years. The comics by Stefan Hutchinson try to bring Michael back to his original H1 roots as an unstoppable force of evil who can kill anybody. Its revealed that Michael has killed people all over Illinois on the 20 years between H2 & H20. Most were random young girls & were killed because they reminded Michael of Judith as he is obsessed with recreating her death. Dr. Loomis followed his trail for years until his death when Michael killed a former girlfriend of his & showed him that he already knew about Laurie's survival & fake "death". The channel "Dr. Wolfula" explores these comics throughly with visual references on his videos "Halloween the First Death of Laurie Strode Review" & "Halloween Nightdance Review". Do y'all think these comics should've been adapted as films & would y'all consider checking them out in both's free time?

Halloween Trivia 2: This timeline (H1, H2, H20 & Resurrection) explores a theme of "fate" towards Laurie. The fact the she was pursued by her brother as a young teenager at the same age as Judith (17) after randomly dropping some keys at the Myers house in 1978, that her son became the target at the same age (17) 20 years later in 1998. And that she lost her real parents on a car crash after she visited Michael as a young girl in the psychiatric hospital & she was killed ironically on a hospital years later after a "visit" by Michael himself. In "Halloween 30 Years of Terror" Laurie states that even if Michael was truly dead after H2, he would've always haunted her in her nightmares & she would've never be really happy in life as all her accomplishments & joy throughout the years (her friends, her son, her career/job) get sour when thinking of her roots & the trauma she endured as Michael's sister. Do y'all think this makes this iteration of Laurie too depressing?

Halloween: Resurrection Hey, guys. This one's bad but I like it more than Halloween (2018), Ends and H6. In my head canon, this and H20 can be canon to the H4-H6 timeline. I watched these movies when I was a kid before I understood the concept of Hollywood reboots and timelines. I just assumed they all went together, Laurie faked her death, and abandoned her daughter; Jamie out of fear. I still kinda pretend that's the canon. If that were the case, would this make you hate Laurie? Do you think that these movies can still fit that H4-H6 canon with some light changees?

Halloween: Resurrection Question Hey guys! Which other iconic horror villains do you think Busta Rhymes should zap in the crotch and why? Trivia As originally written and shot, the college kid “Deckard” was the one who showed up to save the final girl in the garage. When Busta busts through the door, if you look carefully or freeze frame during the shot of the door actually breaking, you can see it’s actually Deckard there because they didn’t redo that shot.

Busta Rhymes didn't die in neither the script or the original cut, he was just choked unconscious by Michael when he & Sara tried to exit the house. After Deckard saves Sara from the fire, he is last seen getting carried away to the hospital & he apologizes to Sara for putting the show first over their lives & for putting everybody in danger. Then Sara talks to Deckard properly in person. That deleted scene & alternate ending are in YouTube. Plus I own the first workprint cut, there's second one with the title "Halloween: Homecoming " which is closer to the theatrical cut but it also has a different ending.
