If they haven’t recorded yet please consider swapping to the director’s cut as it’s the intended version of the movie like Roxy and Tara watched. The theatrical cut is the Weinstein’s cut and completely undermines the intended tone and lead’s performances

Halloween 2: I usually get a lot of weird looks for this but I think this a top 5 Halloween movie, I watched this and the first back to back sometime during the October. I’m curious if it falls in y’all’s top 5 of the franchise or does it not work for yall. Also since this is officially the end of the Halloween Franchise for yall, how would yall all 13 movies.

Halloween 2: My second question, this Halloween movie has a lot of supernatural elements in this movie. I’m curious if y’all like those supernatural elements in y’all’s slasher movies, or do you prefer just straight forward slasher movies.

Halloween 2 (H2): Happy Halloween Jackie and John, RZ didn't intend to do a sequal to his first film but when it was green lit he didn't want anyone else to direct with the assumption that they might ruin what he created. My only favorite part about the movie is the continuation at the hospital just like the original only I dislike the fact that it was only a nightmare. My question is, in this film Michael seems to grunt now when he kills his victims, do you think this is a good addition to his character or would you prefer for him to being silent as he originally is (besides the heavy breathing)? Also Michael is played by Tyler Mane (Sabertooth from X-Men) I think he is way too tall. Thanks guys, keep on living the dream and as always STAY AWESOME 😎👍👍

Halloween II RZ: I mostly want to show appreciation to yall for killing these reactions. Halloween is my favorite franchise, so always nice to see people that have never seen the movies have fresh reactions. What is your favorite thing about this franchise? This take tends to get shit on in the halloween community, but I really enjoy this movie, especially the unrated directed cut version. It definitely has it issues, with the woman in white and Michael talking, but the unrated version goes deeper into how messed up Laurie is, which is totally justified. And just the difference in her relationship with Annie. Which Danielle Harris is great as always.

Yes please directors cut!

Halloween II 2009 question 1: This film is another case of heavy studio interference as depending on which version yall see, y'all have a different viewing experience. Assuming this was the Theatrical Cut, the Director's Cut (at 2 hours) has Laurie having a complete wrecked friendship with Annie since the start, Dr Loomis beign more of an @**høle, & Michael having more visions with his mom. Laurie is a complete mess throughout in this version, but the film does feel like a "grounded" take on some real PTSD victims who let their trauma & anger out on the people they love because they don't know how to really process it or handle. The horse visions ruin it tho IMO & of course it's not fun to see this kind of film compared to other slashers. The horse thing was just some weird motiff that Rob Zombie liked. And the reason why Laurie has some sort of link with Michael is supposed to imply that there's some sort of madness that runs through the Myers family according to Rob. Which "final film" in all the timelines (H6, Resurrection, H2 2009, Ends) is the best & which is the worst considering all end either completely weird, experimental or insane?

Leon03

Halloween II Question 2: The Director's Cut has a completely different ending that can viewed in YT. In it, Michael tackles Loomis off the shack, takes off his mask, & yells "Die" before stabing Loomis. The police opens fire & shoot Michael dead. Then a traumatized Laurie exits the shack, walks towards Loomis with a kinfe in her hand, & but she gets shot dead (Sherrif Bracket didn't ordered fire) & falls next to Michael & Loomis. Finally as a sad cover version of Love Hurts plays, we zoom in to Laurie's last thoughts which are of her getting reunited with her mom (& the horse of course) in the hospital. The Theatrical Cut was a reshoot attempt so that a sequel (called Halloween 3D) was to explore Laurie's journey as a killer next to Michael (kinda like Jamie in H4) but this never materialized. Rob Zombie didn't wanted to do a sequel to his 2007 remake in the first place but the studio ordered one anyways So he attempted to kill all the main characters in his first cut. YT channel "Dead Meat" has a "Cut Comparison" series which compares the Theatrical Cut with the Director's Cut, alongside videos for H6 & the 2007 Remake with their own versions. Which ending do y'all prefer as the final film in this specific timeline/universe?

Leon03

Halloween II question 3 (if time): As y'all can see, the Laurie Strode character didn't seem to have a happy ending in these older films. Either she was dead (H4, Resurrection, original ending of H2 Remake) or ended up insane. As hated as it is, H: Ends finally broke that over 40 year old mold & gave her character a nice peaceful send off which i hope doesn't get ruined by another sequel. Have yall seen the other badass "final girl" franchises like Ripley in Alien, Sidney in Scream, or Sarah Connor from Terminator? If not, add them to the watch list, y'all will not be disappointed. P. S. Not a "horror slasher" final girl per say, but horror action heroine (& vampire) Selene from the 2000s Underworld franchise deserves a watch too.

Halloween 2: Hey Jackie and Jon, Now that you're at the end, do you think the multiple timelines hurt or harm the franchise? I used to think it was harmful, but now I think it helps because the different entry points can welcome those with different tastes.

Halloween II 2009 Trivia 1: I know Jackie really prefers the H20 timeline for that film alone. And considering this film seems to tackle similar themes, I want to recommend "The First Death of Laurie Strode" comic that serves as a bridge between H2 & H20. In it right after Michael was blown up in the hospital, Laurie starts suffering from PTSD including reprimanding her adoptive parents about her past & starting a heavy drug & alcohol addiction. In November of 1978, Michael tries to attack her one more time (dressed as a clown like in the first film or H4) but she escapes. However Michael kills Jimmy (paramedic love interest from H2) in front of her which prompts Dr. Loomis in helping her fake her death in a car crash. It would be cool if y'all can find an online PDF or physical copy of it & read it yourselves. It's pretty short at only two issues as the third & final one never got released. The anthology comic Halloween 30 years of Terror is also pretty interesting & takes place in the H20 timeline. Last thing i can recommend is the Halloween novelizations. H1 - H4 all had novelizations in the 80s (yes also Season of the Witch) which either expand the source material or contain new content that makes it different than their film counterparts. My favorite is the Halloween 2 one as not only it has rare B& W photos in each chapter, but also its very atmospheric & i really like the deeper insight on the Laurie character. There's physical & PDF copies for all these. The newer trilogy also had novelizations. Just be on the lookout online as they can vary in price, i got some of the 80s ones for $20.

Dan Gehen

Halloween 2: Hey Jackie and Jon, one more question. I still don't like this movie but I'm starting to find things I appreciate over time. For example, I think it better explores trauma than the new trilogy in part because it isn't afraid of how messy it can be. Between this, H20, and the new trilogy, which do you think handles Laurie's trauma/survivorship the best?

Dan Gehen

Here's a handy timeline graphic now that the series is done.

Trivia 2 (ONLY IF TIME but NOT main trivia): Considering both's journey through all the Halloween films is done, & that Sherrif Bracket is played by the always amazing Brad Douriff, the voice actor of Chucky. Is there any way y'all can ask the big bosses at Reject Nation for any possibility on reacting to all the original Chucky films? Or maybe all the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films? I know Freddy Krueger is already recommended for Jackie. But it would be fun to see both's reaction on the most infamous killer doll in horror.

Halloween II: Hoping the powers that be change their minds and let you watch the director’s cut, but if not then please watch it in your own time as it has (IMO) one of the most raw and realistic portrayals of PTSD in a horror film and some really great emotional performances that are cut out of the theatrical. That said, do you find it more appealing when when sequels take the more “Hollywood” approach of the theatrical cut (main character being slightly damaged but trying to pull their life together) or the more realistic direction of the director’s cut (trauma still being relatively fresh and main character barely holding on). Also, do you prefer when franchise sequels are formulaic, or when directors like to get a bit experimental and try something different?

Halloween RZ2 First my ranking lol: H1, H4, 2018, H20, RZ2, H2OG, Halloween Res, H5, RZ1, Season of the witch, Kills, Ends, Curse Are yall doing a ranking video, like Roxy and Tara did last year?

Hasena Ali

If you remember Season of the witch, sing along guys (“Happy, happy Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Happy happy Halloween, Silver Shamrock!”) You have finally finished the franchise after 13 movies! Any plans on playing the Halloween video game on the gaming channel? It basically recreates the story of the first movie and you play as Michael Myers

Noah

I have no question. I just wanted to say I appreciate you guys and have enjoyed your reactions to this franchise that I hold so near and dear to my heart despite its flaws. Happy Halloween 🎃

Trivia 1 & Question 2

Punktlig

Hey, Jackie & John! This is my first question of the whole Halloween reaction series. I missed the post for the first RZ movie. Being born in ‘95 this was THE Halloween movie in my upbringing. Halloween fan views on this movie, I feel are polarizing but I always LOVED it. Huge fan of Rob Zombie and Brad D. He’s iconic and leads my all time favorite horror series. (Child’s Play) Even though he gave me night terrors when I was little. Since seeing them all as an adult, I can appreciate the original ‘78 Halloween. It is a classic, but I love how with these two, we got an origin to Michael. Also because of the portraying actors stature and physicality, an explanation to why Michael is so strong, durable and seemingly unstoppable. I love that the RZ duology, being a remake, actually went and did something different from the rest of the series. It feels real to me and I love the execution of showing how grief and trauma affects different individuals. Sheirff Brackett and Laurie being the standouts. (Really even young Michael also) Do you two like that this movie did something very different from what came before? Even with Michael speaking. I like that it’s just the once and towards Loomis. I buy into the old deep seated anger and hatred. I will always be a defender of these two movies. Though I do accept, they may not be what some people like or expect “Halloween” to be. It’s done to dislike the movies, not bash people that do like them. Thanks for the Halloween franchise journey! ❤️
