Are you ready to open the puzzle box and unleash pure nightmare fuel? Clive Barker’s blood-soaked masterpiece completely redefined supernatural horror, but did Pinhead and the Cenobites terrify us as much as they fascinated us? From that grotesque attic resurrection to the skin-crawling final act, what did we actually think of this legendary descent into pain and pleasure?

PLEASE NOTE - THERE WAS A LOT OF DIFFICULTY WITH THE SYNC DRIFTING.

I haven't watched this movie in quite a while but it's going to be fun rewatching with the She-jects and resident Horror "Ladies of the night" - won't type that other word here just in case though I love the merch. Maybe after Hellraiser 1 & 2, you both (along with Jon) can continue your horror gaming by playing the game on PS5 "Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival." Hulu's "Hellraiser" made in 2022 is also worth a watch. Looking forward to rewatching with the both of you once I get home.

Back as a young kid early teen all my friends were all about Jason or Freddy. Hellraiser/pinhead was my favorite horror film.

You got me Chattering on a SlipnSlide.... Awesome pick to watch. Ive been a Barker fan since I picked up his books of blood volume 4 in 1985. His stories are horrific and humanly visceral. I also own some art books limited published. Shejects should check out Midnight Meat Train, another great film by him. The Hellraiser series of movies has many ups and downs, just enjoy the ride and the creativity. Barker has a very Lovecraftian feel to his work. Instead of cosmic horrors, his deals more with a human microcosm and existential horror. He calls it Fantastique Horror, often showcasing dark fantasy, body horror, and supernatural horror.

Meant to add. In a time where horror movies were more about teenage campy type slasher stuff. I always thought this had way more of a real story and real characters. The girl in this is in all the Hellraiser films. She also did some movie bits and a lot of tv over the years.

Nice to see Roxy and Tara get to this; watched the YouTube edit -- I offer my deepest apologies to Roxy and Tara for actually laughing at their pain; I'm not an asshat, I promise!. I have both the Arrow Blu-rays of this and the second one, the 4K Arrow box set of the first four from a few years ago, and both a 4K bootleg and legitimate 4K German release of the 2022 reboot. Those are the only ones worth watching in my humble subjective opinion. Not sure how to leave questions or trivia for you guys, but would love to add to the conversation when we get to those. ANYWAY, happy watching, ladies.

Great reaction! I'm glad you were able to tolerate the chattering cenobyte, he's really creepy. If you like Clive Barker's stuff, I highly recommend Nightbreed. It has a very good story and practical effects.
