Yeah, this ep. was off balance with the drama and comedy. This wasn't a filler because the overall plot of the ep. was for Aang to learn firebending, but like you said it had alot of quips and comedy, and when we had a filler filler ep. it's atleast very funny which this ep. I didn't find to be so much, so it left we with a weird sensation, but still enjoyed it.

The music in this episode was amazing

You're wack. It's just showcasing the first mission between Zuko and Aang. Not everything has to be dramatic. It's like a trial run for Zuko being in the gang. And for their review, Zuko never tried to "kill" them. Only capture. And they are kids, so not shit he'd become the butt of the joke.

While I appreciate your support by having pledged to our Patreon here, Lorenzo I will say if this treatment towards others continues towards others I will have to ask you to leave. Everyone’s allowed to have their own opinions. And at our Patreon we’d really like to keep things positive and if there’s disagreements to handle it civil. at the end of the day, as much as one may love this series, it is just a show. Flev was just expressing an opinion. As for what we said in our video, you can totally disagree. We’ve had many people disagree with us on a lot of episodes with very few who are willing to go “wait a little bit or looking back this episode is better” or something along those lines (not saying that’s always the case, sometimes just might not agree with an Execution of something, doesn’t mean we don’t agree with the context) anyway man be safe.

Your opinion was understandable, though I had a different reaction when first watching this episode. Me and my friends were geeking out, because we actually get to see Aang and Zuko interact with each other like a sorta brotherly relationship. The show had always been referencing their parallels and opposites of each other. How Aang is mostly timid with fire and Zuko can easily lose control. The dragon dance for two to form and the two dragons, the episode gave symbols for duality. It was a delight to see them just talking to each other. Though your opinions are valid as well, Katara was oddly more humorous this episode, when she just threatened to kill him last episode. And some scenes here like climbing the mountain, opening the gate, the booby traps, and the fire delivery quest, not the most interesting ideas which is mostly why it felt like filler. Best parts for sure was Toph's Flashback and the reveal of the Dragons, by far one of the prettiest looking episodes so far.

I understand your perspectives on the episode, but honestly this is one of my favorites. I absolutely love seeing how natural Aang and Zuko's chemistry with one another reflects well off of the season one "in another time could we be friends" concept. I also love the fact that even though this is a kid show, the writers knew they didn't have to explain every detail around the dragons flames. The moment could just speak for itself. As a kid it all hit; fun and beautiful.

I'm sorry. I dont mean to attack people. I've been in the avatar community for a while, which can be very toxic. So I'm used to responding to comments with equal toxicity sometimes even in anticipation.

Aah, I loved this episode. Shame you guys felt it was filler. But appreciate the reaction anyways.

Nahh, I know that was the first word that came to mind, but we retracted that pretty quick in our discussion to clarify more of what we meant. Not filler.
