Shawn's speech at the end is always such a punch in the gut. To me this is definitely an episode that makes a point to show some of Shawn's character growth. Part of me does kind of wish Declan could have come into the show in a different way, only because like you said he really could have been buddies with Shawn and Gus. I feel like they could have had a similar to what they had with Freddie Prinze Jr.'s character, at least if it wasn't for Juliet being in the middle of them. Some really fun episodes coming up!!

One of my (many) favorite things about Psych is how they almost always have their characters make good & decent choices. And I think the Declan/Juliet/Shawn triangle was a good example of that. I feel like other shows might make Declan easy to hate and they might make Shawn lash out at everyone in jealousy and turn it into this shady & dramatic “love” triangle. But, they didn’t. And I appreciate that.
