Ok so I got a LOT of feedback for the name poll, most of it negative, so we will do a run off with the most popular poll vs comment names. then use the most voted suggestions. This will run until Tuesday when I finish the chapter. Multiple choices are permitted. Here they are in alphabetical order. It's the last one, I promise.

I'm not a fan of the food ones. I voted changing before as it made the most sense to me and stuck with the title. I very much dislike gourmet as it means someone with a discerning palate. gourmand or glutton or maw are all better, but eh. Crescent sounds moon like and is probably taken already, but I like it better than the food ones. I voted Alecto though because it matches the best to me (after changling) and seems rarer than crescent.

I think character wise Nestra would choose either Crescent or Gourmand. Personally I like Maw.

Crescent looks most appealing to me, the food ones seem like misplaced silliness, while Maw is perhaps a just bit too simplistic.

I like Crescent. It's clever. Nestra's often smiling when she fights and her smile is bound to be a bit terrifying what with her teeth, making it memorable. It also is probably wise from a security perspective for her to avoid drawing too much attention to just how much she eats, as it seems to be way more than a human does? Maybe not an issue if gleams also eat a lot, or also get eating powers. I also like Greyscale.

I chose Crescent, cause I get where she is coming from with that at least. The rest, idk about, or you were probably joking, lol. How about Crescent Maw? Or Faint Smile? Negate? Monotone? Or Hidden Crescent? Swallow? Visage? Grey Crescent? Clandestine? Grey Veil? Threshold? Ingress? Dragoness(helps explain the horned mask) Just throwing some idea out there. lol But for now I'll go with Crescent.

I feel like just "Scorn" would work great!! Because Nestra was the target of scorn from most that saw her as defective. And so shes the scorn thats come back to bite them in the ass. But also its from her path. So its a double entendre?

Really like Alecto because of its greek origin, considering Nestra's own full name is ancient greek and she's always hated it because of its origins. This would feel like Nestra taking ownership of a part of her background she never liked and turning it into something that is her, that she can identify with. It is personal and connected to her, while still private and enough of an "in-joke" to not be a giveaway about who or what she is.

I think Crescent is terrible, no matter that it’s related to her fighting style. Oh well.

Personally I don't like Crescent. It sounds too much like a superhero name and I don't think Nestra is the type of character for such a name. Oh well...

To me crescent feels like a name Nestra would actually pick. It's a nod to her fighting style, so it has meaning to her. A foodie name could have been good, I just didn't like the given options. Maw though, Nestra doesn't feel edgy enough to pick that name herself. Like, is heroing her passion, putting fear into the heart of evil ala punisher? If the gangers who kidnapped her supplier's son named her maw, or any other scary name, and it stuck, that would fit for me.

The name should 100% be Scorn or Scorned. It both relates to the other half of the fighting style Scornful Crescent that the current favorite name "Crescent" is based off, but also has the bonus of actually describing her character. She's been scorned her whole life for being a non-gleam from a gleam family.
