It's 7am and I'm sitting in the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel trying to compose myself. On Friday, I was at home in Seattle and saw a public post by Dita Von Teese saying that she was holding an open call audition for performers on Monday in Hollywood CA. It's not often that you hear about an open call audition for burlesque. Not just that, but the description of the audition really spoke to me. It said "Don't bring acts or costumes. I just want to see how you move." I was feeling impulsive, so I looked up plane tickets, but the date was so short notice that tickets were close to $1000. So, on Saturday, with the help and support of my partner Henry, I decided to start the drive to LA right after my show at Pink Door in Seattle. Henry rushed to the venue as soon as I was done, scooped me up in full show makeup, and we were on our way at 2am!

I don't know what to expect or what's going to happen, but I'm mostly here for the experience and to hopefully just be seen. So idk! I'm nervous. I'm excited. I feel fine. I feel not fine. Either way, I'm happy to be back in LA to see some friends, and maybe meet new ones.

This gallery is from one of my last trips to CA, at the Madonna Inn! I love these images, so I decided to share twice as many as I normally do in a single gallery. Hope you guys like them!

The sounds like the makings of a great big break story. It's also pretty circumstantial as well because my wife just surprise me with a night stay at The Roosevelt Hotel for my upcoming birthday. Hopefully that place holds magic for both of us.
