With Tavern Gold, there is little illusion as to why we're here; this comic is pure entertainment and joy for the smutty-minded person. That is not to say that there isn't a story, far from it. A good narrative adds a powerful weight to a piece of erotica and allows a reader that added element of immersion. this is a universe I am sure many would enjoy having a stroll through.

Tarn Thundercock, an orc of captivating features (in many ways) is working to make gold so he can support his travelling companions. Very swiftly though we see this is not going to be a normal strip show but a full display of the orc's vitality to the horde of eager onlookers gathering at the tavern. A couple of such audience members are quite taken by Tarn and decide to have a little fun with him by giving him a particular kind of toy to spice up his performance. This toy though has certain magical properties that quickly add a certain unpredictable wildness and Tarn certainly finds himself enjoying it's actions...

KappaX's style focuses on strong, defined lines with softer, muted colours, giving the comic a visually striking yet not overwhelming feel for the eye. This carries through into his characters as well, who have clear, emotive features and perfectly capture the intent of the moment.

I personally love a good orc boy and I am glad to see KappaX is giving us such a fine example with Tarn (and whose name Thundercock certainly matches the proportions of the hero's loins). At times there is the temptation of creators to follow the example of J. R. R. Tolkien's Orcian race and make them as ugly and bestial as possible. A number of artists in recent years though have pushed back against such easy stereotyping and have been fleshing out the Orcs into a distinct race beyond their traditionally villainous role. I am fully supportive of such a direction and it makes me curious to try my hand at my own Orcian characters (and erotica) in the future.

The end of Tavern Gold hints at possible more orcy adventures to come. It is a promise that I am looking forward to seeing KappaX fulfilling in the future...

Passing thoughts

'Cocksure Hole'...what a great name for a sex friendly inn

I love how the audience is raving and besides themselves at Tarn's performance. Considering the size of the crowd and how openly this performance is being advertised I get the impression this is quite a sex positive kingdom the comic is taking place in

I spied an Elf or two in the crowd. Considering another piece by KappaX, of Tarn relaxing being attended by a throng of Elven admirers, I would enjoy seeing a full comic seeing him making the acquaintance of these beauties

Tarn has no trouble giving or taking it seems; I do love a versatile hunk. It is making my finger itch to return to working on my own fantasy erotica involving orcs...:D
