Magnus Reviews...Steel Within Me by Kamui Jack (Patreon)

As a kid one of my favourite cartoons was 1992's X-Men: The Animated Series. The action, the tales it told, the wonderous characters and their engaging interpersonal dramas were a delight to me (who could not fall in love with Storm's rousing Shakespearean mini speeches?). A particular facet I really enjoyed was how it introduced me to so many different hunky men, such as Cyclops, Gambit, Beast, and more...but by far it was Peter Rasputin aka Colossus that caught my eye. Kind, responsible, humble and wearing such a tight tank top that barely seemed to contain his chest he firmly cemented himself as my leading crush among the X-Men.

So imagine my delight when I came across 'Steel Within Me', a fan comic by Kamui Jack. An artist active during the late 2010s, Kamui Jack specialised in bara and various 'manly' themes, such as sports, military and rough working men. In the comic we find Colossus and fellow X-Men Wolverine aka Logan getting hot and heavy in the locker room after training, taking care of their raging needs...

'Steel Within Me' is the sole comic that Kamui released and what a work that he did here. The action is hot, rough and satisfying. The way that Colossus has his way with Wolverine, manhandling with a dominating energy, is very satisfying to see. It is rare to see Wolverine as the receiving partner in these duos and even more so to witness him being quite submissive (acting as though he is in heat you could say haha).  

It only makes the action more hot and provides us with some gorgeous panels, such as Wolverine deep-throating Colossus's veiny cock and when the titan of steel begins to penetrate the lusty Logan's ass with his metal rod. 

That brings me to the key appeal of this comic beyond seeing Colossus and Wolverine getting it on together; the evident passion within it. You can feel Logan's lust to be used; the way Colossus teases Logan that his cock is his 'favourite' one; their utter focus on each other; the mutual drinking of each other's seed in properly intimate acts with each other. That flame of desire has always been an important, integral part in any of my own works and to see it here finally catches my attention.

The final panel where the lovers are being playful in the showers is the perfect closing touch to this comic and leaves us on a firm, fond note.  As a work, it is memorable and a favourite of mine to revisit every once in a while. It also serves as a poignant reminder of a particular artist's style and the legacy he has left within the gay arts after his retirement.
