Magic at the Museum stands victorious in this edition of The Fold Games.

And that means... It’s coming back!

This month, we are creating three maps. Two concepts are already locked in. The third...?

That one belongs to you.

Here’s What We Need

We are looking for very specific, concise location ideas for a new Magic at the Museum map.

Not vague themes. Not “something spooky.” Not “a cool room.”

We want:

  1. A specific location

  2. Clear lore and function

Think in this format (using Magic at the Museum - Part 2 as an example):

Location: Magical Creatures
Lore: The entire space showcases magical creatures found throughout all the lands — rare, strange, and unique. Its prime attraction, however, is one of a mythical kind: a serpentine creature from the depths, staring at whoever dares enter the exhibition.

We aren't looking to expand on the above example. After all, it's just an example. We are looking for your ideas for new rooms. When thinking about the location, think: What transpired here? What magical elements define it? What mood are we talking about? What is the purpose of the room?

We don’t care if it’s written perfectly. We care about the idea.

Take it as wildly as you want.

Some Small Rules:

  • The map must be no more than one — possibly two — rooms.
This allows us to fully go Eightfold Paper style on it. No compromises.

  • You may also support ideas shared by others in the comments. If someone posts something brilliant? Boost it. Expand on it. Make it stronger. Or simply give it a like.

  • We will be picking one specific idea within 1 week.
Meaning: whatever you come up with may literally become the map.

Magic at the Museum is returning.

Now tell us...
What room are we opening next?

Drop your idea in the comments below.

It would be amazing to have a map of a large space of various pools -each with a various magical property. Each look vastly different than the other, and each can provide various effects. The space is a combination of natural caverns and ritualistic temple structures, ancient and abandoned. Perhaps there could be various rituals or requirements to enter these pools as well, and very little the informs the party exactly what pool does what.

Location: Interactive Learning Space Lore: Families are invited to reimagine how it was like for their ancestors to live amongst the land through the centuries, connecting with the exhibits in a hands on way. From huge taxidermy creatures in crawl-through dioramas to a build-your-own-beast skeleton display, families can weave in and out of the exhibits on hand and knee or tippy toe. Necromancers barred at the door.

Location: Hall of Armor Lore: A wing full of suits of armor, all donated to the museum by a mysterious benefactor. The suits of armor showcase a variety of cultures and histories; fey, infernal, celestial, etc. Visitors love the room but the janitorial staff does not share that sentiment. Workers report showing up to the museum each morning and finding glass cases broken, scratches in the marble floor, and other hallmarks of a fiercely fought battle. Hours are spent resetting the space only to come across another calamitous scene the following day. What was initially thought of as a prank soon gave way to rumors that the suits are all haunted, that the mysterious donor might have offloaded the collection in order to rid themselves of the curses enveloping the relics.
