State of the game (Patreon)

Hey Everyone! I'm here for an update on the state of the game. First, I'd like to apologize for the long hiatus. Due to some circumstances irl, I've been unable to be as active as I'd like to be. Unfortunately, this won't be resolved anytime soon, but I wanted to let everyone know what's going on with the game.

First, the game is still actively being worked on. I'm currently working alongside some play testers to try to solve some platform-specific bugs that have been plaguing the recent release of the game. This has been slow going due to how each platform executes code. I know it's been frustrating for you, but I refuse to continue until those bugs and crashes are fixed.

Second, I'd like to talk about the crackdown on games recently. As many of you may know, there has been a crackdown on games featuring certain content, which has removed them from sites like Steam and Itch. Those familiar with the old simbro know that it contained this exact content. Now, I've been lucky enough not to be hit by this recent takedown, but it also means that I need to pivot from the content previously planned for the game. This doesn't mean that the content will be cut from the game. It only means that I need to find a way to distribute it outside those platforms as an optional mod. However, this has put more work on my plate as I need to redesign some of the story and features previously planned to make them suitable for those sites.

Third, as I've been working on bug fixes, crashes, irl, and dealing with the pivot in content, SkullZombie has been hard at work adjusting the character art so it can be recolored in-game. This means that we will be able to have more skin, hair, and eye colors for both male and female characters. The idea is to have a color picker in-game to allow you to freely change the colors, giving you more options for how characters look. Next, I'm hoping to get SkullZombie to maybe work on art for an X-ray feature.

Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who's stuck around. I know the updates have been sparse, but I assure you I'm trying to make the best game possible for everyone. I can't give you a specific date for when the next release will be, and I can guarantee we are still a ways off. Thanks again to everyone who's stuck around.
