Hey, guys.  I’d like to apologize for the delay and radio-silence on my end for the past week.  I’m halfway done with August’s Solitary image, and I’m trying to get it done for you all as soon as possible — it’s a big one, and I think you guys will like it!

Unfortunately, my other dog, Isabelle, died last Friday unexpectedly from a heart attack.  My family knew she had heart issues, but we all thought she’d be with us for another several years.  It’s only been around nine or ten months since our other dog, Daisy, passed and this kind of hit us all really hard.  It was difficult to work this week as a result; I’ve only been “rolling” again for the past couple days.  But I have been trying to put my face to the grindstone, as it were. So, my immediate plans start with finishing that August Solitary image.  I might try to squeeze in another small image before that happens if it looks like the Solitary image is still going to be a minute — provided it won’t massively impact the Solitary image.  I also need to get this month’s Solitary image process started; I normally wouldn’t start that before the prior image is complete, but it’s getting late enough in the month to potentially be a problem.  So, expect that ideas-gathering post up here soon!  I also owe you guys a ton of replies and DM responses!  And a little further afield, I’ve already got a good idea for how to tackle the next Off-Limits! page — so I’d like to get cracking on that too.

Anyway, I didn’t want to head into the weekend without giving you guys at least a little update.  I’m very sorry for the delay and lack of communication on my part, and I’m working hard to get back on track!  I appreciate you all so much, and I cannot even express how grateful I am for all of you.

Take your time bro, can't rush perfection🙂‍↔️

Damn. Having lost several animals in my life as well, I can say it definitely never gets easier. Take all the time you need. The real fans and patrons who actually understand and care will be here when you're ready.

Losing pets are like losing a family member, take all the time you need🫂💜 I’m so sorry for your loss

Raisuga

Completely understandable! I am so sorry for your loss... My bird just passed away a couple weeks ago and my cat passed away due to a heart murmur in January so I understand completely, as I am sure all of us do Take your time, process and grieve, and heal.

jailoreckman

Thank you so much. I don't know about "perfection", lol. XD

jailoreckman

It's the only downside to having pets --- at some point you have to say "good bye." And man, does it suck. Thank you so much.

jailoreckman

Yeah, this one hit really hard. My parents were wrecked over her passing, because they'd originally gotten her to help them through my brother and I going off to college. Thank you so much.

Oh man, I'm so sorry for your loss, too! You've been going through nearly the same stretch of this as me --- Daisy passed in early December, and then Isabelle went a couple weeks ago on the 4th. God, I'm so sorry. What were their names, if you don't mind sharing? If you do, I'd understand, of course. And thank you so much.

My cat's name was Franky, and my bird's name was Birdie. I adopted Franky from my sister and had him 5 years. He was only five and a half years old... Birdie was a bird my dad rescued but because of his job he couldn't bring him everywhere, so I took him in. He was old when I got him, but I had him almost a year

Damn, man... I'm so sorry you had to lose them so soon, too... Franky was so young. And Birdie sounds like he had quite the life story. I hope your sister and dad are alright, too. Our pets might not be able to stay with us for long, but we can always remember them for the grand impact that they have on our lives during their stay. For Franky and Birdie, they'll both be remembered for more than they could have ever known or understood. May they rest easy in reward.

Franky was my little sidekick. He went everywhere with me. I used to travel for work and he would ride with me all the time. That cat traveled all over the country with me

jailoreckman

That's absolutely wonderful. I'm sure he'd seen more of the country than most people --- he almost definitely had me beat! I'm sure he appreciated that life of adventure you gave him, because most cats certainly don't get to enjoy that kind of travel. And man, what a fantastic travel buddy to have. Were you driving with him? My parents took Isabelle in their RV whenever they went camping, and she saw a great deal of the US that way, too. Like, she saw Yosemite, the Grand Tetons, Crater Lake, and much more. Once they were set up at campgrounds, they'd put her in a special box on the back of their motorcycle with her head poking out and take her with them to explore the surrounding areas --- and she loved it! XD They usually left me with Daisy when they went, since Daisy was too old to handle that kind of activity, lol, but she got to be my buddy while they were away.
