I was definitely looking forward to your reaction of this, the MV is such a trip!! They've got me plunging back into synthwave, I'll tell you that. So good!!!

knightbyte

i genuinely LOVE the rapid cutting effect making the imagery kinda meld together- its such a visual spectacle but it just sucks a bit from an accessibility standpoint sadly. so glad for the human eye ver!!

Erin Violet

Apparently they wanted even more flash cuts in the video but had to tone it down 😭 from the vid and lyrics, I think that the girls gained power from ARTMS after consuming her. Seems like the cult girls needed to perform a ritual to free artms from Eden and bring them to the world (camera girl perhaps roped into it but grew fond of the sacrificed girls?) either way, the album is definitely 10/10

So glad you did a reaction to the human eye version too! I do think there is a certain charm about the editing in the original that I don’t get in the human eye ver. But to understand the story it is easier to watch

Liv

The music video made me cry, it’s just the imagery of what the girls represent and then the song itself just takes my breath away with that hook just wow like tell me you don’t just burst into tears at haseuls high note from the end of the bridge SHIVERS HER ANGELIC VOICE

Liv

The album was so amazing and I just kept getting lost in the songs even after I listened to the album all the way through 4 times in a row, like it felt like I would be taken away somewhere else and had to listen again and again bc I wasn’t processing what was happening in the songs there’s SO MUCH to digest

Liv

Digipedi you’ve done it again 🫡 constantly raising the bar

rae

correct me if im wrong but from my understanding the girls are in a cult-like obsession of these saviours/virtual angels being artms, and through the lyrics artms sings to their followers "ill be there for you when your wings break" when by the end you see that they weren't actually able to protect them ?? or maybe the girls are sacrificing themselves to achieve ascension into artms perhaps??

pmreez

Haseul killing me in this!

i really love the imagery in the end of 'i'll be there for you when your wings break' as the winged girls are on the ground, it's my assumption that they jumped from the ledge believing that artms would save them but ultimately as artms are just 'virtual' angels they could not catch them in their fall. it's so cultish i love it.

So the flash warning was not originally there lol, Orbits and Ouriis had put the pressure on Modhaus until they put that in the captions I believe the next morning

flowerbit

I thought the same thing. Especially when the girls put on the VR glasses. I feel like it was trying to show their obsession with them blinded them to the fact that the angels were virtual. So when their wings broke, no one saved them and they actually fell off the building

bianca beltran

i saw somebody say the flashing was supposed to represent the concept of not being able to look directly at an angel for too long, and i thought that was an amazing theory

flowerbit

The flash warning wasn’t originally there when the mv premiered and I was watching it on my huge computer monitor in a dimly lit room… let’s just say I had a headache for the next hour 😭. But I LOVE this mv and I think it’s such an amazing debut for them. I’ve rewatched this mv so many times (on a smaller screen now lol) and the human eye version. And the album has been on repeat

flowerbit

I have tickets for when they come to the U.S to tour this September. And I just know I’m gonna lose my voice screaming to haseuls “행복이란 through the line 널 더 사랑해 줄게”

rae

modhaus deserves their flowers this one time coz this storyline is actually insane !!😭

Emeleon

yeah pretty sure those girls died because they jumped off a building and a virtual angel cannot, in fact, be there for you when your wings break lmao. they're virtual. this whole story feels like a depressing criticism of the kind of dangerous hyper-parasociality that some orbits tend to exhibit (especially on twitter lol). i think the rapid cuts, as others have said, is a reference to the idea of not being able to look directly at an angel unless you wanna go blind insane or die or something, which seems supported by the scene with jinsoul on the screen and the words "be not afraid" which the biblical angels literally had to say to people every time they showed up because they're actually canonically terrifying lovecraftian monsters in their true forms. it also, however, feels very eeaao-coded. like how fast everything on the internet moves. it could be a reference to how so many orbits intertwine loona with everything they do, to the point that maybe they don't have interests or hobbies outside of that. and finally, semi-related to the looking at an angel thing, i think it's meant to symbolize that we DON'T really know them, and we never truly can. to us, they are "virtual angels" and just as you can never look at the true form of an angel, orbits can never see or know the true forms of artms/loona because it's only a parasocial relationship, not a personal one. very very good concept for them.

I love your view of it; it's very dark. I went completely the opposite, lol. I just assumed the worship girls (fans) were coming together to bring them back from Eden. When they come together, the members finally appear in the human world (buildings in the back), and they show the worship girls dead, which I assumed was fans giving their lives for them to "come back" after what happened to LOONA. I kind of prefer the darker twist tho.

There's something dark and depressing with this mv the actual same feeling i felt when i watch CIX's "save me, kill me" mv..its a combination of sad, depressed and a bit of disturbing influence surrounding this mv and that cix mv..just WOW
