As much as I love all the new stuff KPOP is doing, songs like this and Colorful off their first Assemble album really keep that old school KPOP essence alive for me. When I think of kpop, this is the sound I think of lmao. At 1:38, I cool thing about the formation - the four dancing are S17-S20 which are the 4 members of NXT and then when it transitions to Yooyeon, those 4 are AAA! Love those little details for the fans.

You should check more of their bside music show performance. Touch from Krystal Eyes. Complexity from LOVElution. They can pull of any concept each and every member hence THE IDOL OF ALL POSSIBILITIES.

The first time I watched variety of triple s was through badge war so it was funny seeing some people have flips in their stage personas, Hyerin is such a strong dancer and performer but I do find that that position for some reason is often more timid irl in Kpop, but also it makes sense when yk that Hyerin is 2007 baby she’s so young

GG circa 2015ish is my favorite era of all kpop (GFRIEND, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl specifically). But it's understandable that gg kpop has moved away from that as dancing has really become the most important skill over singing (the 3rd of 4th best singers in any of those groups would be a main vocal these days) and the young/fresh school girl or dream fairy concept is pretty dated. I do wish, tho, that there's a return to focusing on vocals and pretty/catchy melodies (which it SEEMS like 5th gen is veering towards?). I dunno, we'll see. This is probably one of my more favorite B-Sides

Commenting it here too lol. BY THE WAY, highly suggest you watch the 2 subunits of the final 8 girls. You’re generally aware of the first 16 girls and can recognize them more easily since they’ve been around for much longer + Badge War Season 1. S17-20 debuted as NXT with Just Do It. https://youtu.be/s3IfM-u5hVc?si=mROZQ5s_ubDVq8A- S17 - Lynn (tallest from Japanese line) S18 - Joobin (probably best English speaker) S19 - Hayeon (first line in verse 1 of OT24 GND) S20 - Shion (covered Dahyun’s part in the split performances) They were around for a few months before the full group debut. The final 4 didn’t get their unit release until AFTER Girls Never Die. S21 - Chaewon (was on Universe Ticket) S22 - Sullin (only Thai member) S23 - Seoah (maknae, born 2010) S24 - Jiyeon (actual name is Seoyeon so it’s a stage name. Group began and ended with Seoyeons) Their unit is GLOW. As has been mentioned in the chat, there is no video of PD actually reacting to it. Just their thoughts. And as PD is now invested in learning about the girls, the NXT and GLOW videos are a great way to see more of S17-24 before Badge War season 2 and other variety content. Help with familiarizing the newer members faced better.

PD reacted to it together with Aria Door PD cut it but yes PD definitely reacted to NXT you can hear PD's commentary aboit them before PD went straight to ARIA. Check out PD's kpop catch up it was on April 29th.

You’re missing the part where I’m saying it’s now a good idea to go back and re-react to it because PD is now investing in the group and learning the members. PD is watching Badge War season 1 right now which focuses on the first 16 girls. Rewatching NXT will help with recognizing those 4 and then reacting to Inner Dance for the final 4. Especially because it’ll be much harder to learn their faces by just watching Badge War season 2, since it’s screentime divided by 24. PD wasn’t investing in really learning their names and faces back then.

Hi PD! TripleS released their Japanese pre-debut song called Hash or “###” and they are debuting a Japanese unit in 2025 (8 members ). They have performed Hash in Japan with 12 members from Unit-B. On the other hand tripleS “visionary vision” or VV will debut first with 12 members and it’s a performance unit!
