A+ is a unit song with just Jihan and Jaehee so I think that's partly why it sounds much younger, you don't have the more mature voices of the others to balance it. Sweet Dream is a unit song with the other 4 members. Both have performance videos, as does Backwards (which is INCREDIBLE). This is definitely my favourite Weeekly album, Bliss is incredible but Colorise is a masterpiece.

This was, in my opinion, one of the most complete EPs we got last year. Every song is so good and really brought something to the table to elevate the whole project. I still regularly listen to all of them.

As a daileee since their debut who stood by them even during the hiatus after play game awake, this ep was so worth it! I think it shows Weeekly's colors as a group really well and how truly talented they are as idols!

Also, if you want to check it out, Weeekly released two fan songs. The one released right before ColoRise is Good Day and the one released after is Stranger (it also has an English version). They are two of my favorite songs so I highly recommend listening to them.

Upshot

For me this was the album of the year 2023! For bonus drops, the first that comes to mind is the Backwards performance video. Btw: In September they are having an America tour, just in case you (or anyone else) didn't know but is interested

I absolutely adored Stranger! And Good Day felt like a nostalgic callback to the earlier Weeekly sound while still feeling like current Weeekly

PD, I'm SO happy you finally got to listen to this album. I've watched all of your Weeekly reactions since the beginning so I know what they meant to you. I still go back and watch the After School reaction once in a while because you put into words how it made me feel. I knew from the moment I started this EP that you were gonna love it. They've always been amazing but this album feels like the girls maturing in a more natural way and becoming who we knew they could be. I'm so proud of them. Backwards and Ruby-Duby-Du are my favorite songs on the album and the more I hear them the more I feel like they are my favorite Weeekly songs ever. I'm so glad you were finally able to have this experience. Check out Stranger next! And the performance video for Backwards! And maybe get caught up with A.C.E while you're at it... 😉

Definitely recommend checking out Backwards performance reaction. And as other mentioned they have the single Stranger between colorise and bliss which I personally really love. Maybe you can check that one out too

The one who sang the line from Backwards you asked about is Soeun You totally nailed the fairytail vibe from Sweet Dream, too. In the performance video you can see how they evoke the concept a bit further visually Love how you mentioned how A+ as a sound is so different. Monday has stated how she was worried she'd have to sing it instead of the 04s since it's so younger sounding and she'd rather do Sweet Dream. This part of the album really felt like its name, ColoRise, because Weeekly wanted to show more colors or genres than what they've always done. Part of it is that they're older, which is also something that continues into Stranger and Bliss, but they continue to show they can still do it if they want to too Ruby Duby Du also has choreo, though they've only performed it about two or three times and doesn't have a performance video like Backwards, Sweet Dream, and A+. It was a surprise performance in their first fanmeeting Lastly just wanna say how fun it is to watch you get healed by Weeekly in backwards order. 2022 and most of 2023 was insanely tough for Daileee (which Stranger is technically about, that time. Depending on which of the two versions it is, it's both related to Weeekly's journey during the hiatus and Daileee going through it too. Like Page but more heartwrenching) Good Day Special Daileee was the promise that things would be okay after all the worry and then ColoRise was released to keep that promise. 2024 has been brilliant since. January was their first fanmeeting, the release of Stranger, now Bliss, and they're finally coming to Mexico, Colombia, Canada, and the US next month. It's been tough, so tough, but so worth it to watch Weeekly's journey P.S. Fun fact: the first Vroom Vroom stage happened two weeks before the release of the album, because NPOP recorded the episode a while before the air date was going to take place (before the tracklist had even come out), and it's the first time that Weeekly had a live audience for a comeback. Second fun fact: the Backwards music show stages is the first time that the lightstick was used

hey pd, not sure if you’ve seen the video for backwards but it is genuinely INSANE. it’s not super high budget but the lighting is ridiculous and it’s got the best silhouette shots to ever be done in kpop tbh. from a videography standpoint i can assure you you’ll be blown away
